hi 'Tatsman'same situation , have you got the date for valuation ??Tatsman said:
thanks for that MaryNB. I went through a mortgage broker so i don't have a direct contact at Halifax. My broker did mention that it should take 2 days to get the valuation booked in but its 4 now. I have sent a note to my broker asking them to chase but waiting to hear back. Aaargh.MaryNB said:
If it's a physical valuation, stay on top of them. They told me it would be 3-5 days to book the valuation in but by the end of day 6 (Friday last week) it hadn't been done - the EA had heard nothing. I got the surveyor's number from Halifax and gave it to the vendor's EA on Friday. It was arranged today. Valuation to be done this Friday.Tatsman said:Hi All,
Really good to read this thread. The waiting is really anxiety inducing. My timeline is as follows:- 13/08 - DIP received
- 17/08 - full application submitted
- 17/08 - hard searches on credit files
- 18/08 - valuation instructed
My Halifax timeline:
10/08/20 Got an AIP & booked a mortgage appointment
12/08/20 Halifax mortgage appointment & application submitted. Payslips submitted, ID checked at branch. Soft & hard credit searches.
13/08 Valuation instructed
18/08 Product fee paid. No further info from me required. Halifax confirmed the only thing outstanding is the valuation.
20/08 Rang for an update. The valuation hadn't been arranged.
24/08 Valuation arranged for 28/08
Hopefully it should be really quick for you after Halifax have received the valuation report back.0 -
We had AIP last wed, so MA put full application in (prev declined by our current mortgage company - nationwide.) Husband is self employed so we know it has to go to underwriter. Anyone else been in a similar situation and had a positive outcome? In terrifed we are going to be declined again.
Also, how does everyone know that hard searches have been completed and valuation arranged??0 -
My MA (or rather his assistant) told me after I chased. They can ring their contact (i.e. BDM) for updates and Halifax can confirm whether a valuation has been booked. They can also tell you which company is used, in most cases reading other Halifax customers here it is most likely e.surv if physical valuation is required.
With e.surv, you can accelerate the process by having the seller to call them to arrange an appointment rather than wait for e.surv to call. The waiting time is around 2 weeks, although they do offer last minute cancellation slots if the seller is flexible.0 -
On Wednesday I received a secure email to say my income had been verified and they were just waiting on the valuation being signed off (im in scotland so they just use the homebuyers report)
Anyone been at this stage before? How long did it take for your offer to be issued? I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday since that seems to be the only thing remaining.0 -
Yes, I was very similar but it took a few days after that. I actually chased my MA and when he checked he said the valuation had been cancelled in error... annoying. But after he put the valuation request through I think it was 2 or 3 days before I got an email saying all good and the offer had been processed.thwd said:On Wednesday I received a secure email to say my income had been verified and they were just waiting on the valuation being signed off (im in scotland so they just use the homebuyers report)

Hello yes, our broker chased the bank & got a number for the valuer. Our estate agent then called & the valuation was scheduled for the following day. We’ve got our mortgage offer now.tejsat said:

Found out when calling today that my mortgage offer was issued on Thursday! I never received a notification so a pleasant surprise. Curious at to why they never told me though

I started it over the phone Saturday 22nd August then I called again as requested to submit the property + conveyancer details and fully submit it Monday 24th. Im in scotland so they had the homebuyers report available already, probably why it was so quick.mitt123 said:@thwd when did your application go in?0 -
Ah ok.... we only submitted 26/8 but the wait is so fustrating0
