I've just had to go out to take delivery of a third incubator barefooted and in my dressing gown! Had such a bad night that I tried to have a lie in so the doorbell was rather rude!
So, with three giant incubators we are now able to hatch around 150 eggs every three weeks...our chicken empire is growing quickly! I've made an Excel spreadsheet of all the staggered hatching dates and a schedule of when to move each group of chicks to bigger, more appropriate accommodation and it's a mind-boggling, colour-coded timeline...
The hot tap in the kitchen blew this morning and was gushing water, so I had to do an emergency dive under the sink to switch it of. Now that cupboard is all higgledy piggledy and needs sorting out...sigh...on the to-do list...
Tigger is tired today ladies. Muted bouncing only...9 -
At last! Blue skies and sunshine. I've washing to go out. The local haberdashery is doing local delivery so I have some millinery elastic which I'm hoping my ears can cope with. For some reason they're out of elastic! 😂 They keep folding over and the masks pop off, I've made a button stretcher thing though and that's fine. So we now have 11 washable masks but I shall gift some to the aged P.s

Valli said:Spice jars washed. More has been thrown than I now have. Spice/herb list updated as promised and now includes use by dates. DD needs parsley for tea. Fortunately I chop and freeze surplus fresh herbs and one of them is parsley. Oven doors cleaned and hob cleaned including Brill0 pad on stands/racks on hob... not sure what they are called, also cleaned gas jet things. Non jam jars ie DE jars I use in larder which are empty now on top shelf in spice cupboard.
@Round (because you mentioned using DE jars)
This is my larder. One can/jar deep. It takes no time to check if I have/haven't got something.
And how come everyone is so much more organised than me.. Clearing out cupboards, drawers and houses...I have done nothing at all like this during lockdown. I've just been a sloth all through the lockdown...lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning all.
Thinking of your DS and all of you, YL - hope all is wellxx
I love spreadsheets and colour-coded timelines, DizzyI will tell DS1 about your hatchery when he comes round this evening (hopefully to put the loo back without any more leaks appearing!)
Good luck with the dog hunt, Kazw.
Over the past few years my hair has gone from mousy brown to a mottled grey (almost white immediately after it has been washed) and I definitely prefer the grey
Yesterday I made some more space in my cupboards and took down an empty tall bookshelf which I am replacing with a small one (just enough shelf space for the grandchildren's books), so today I can also remove two shelves from above the bed. I have ordered some cheerful curtain fabric for the study which I managed to find at half RRP on eeeByGum, and it's already on its way to me. I want to see how thick the cotton weave is, before ordering the lining.
We went out for lunch to a local GC (the Chelsea winners) which has a very high standard of food/service/hygiene/social distancing and my friend S got us two adjoining tables so that we could chat whilst SD-ing. Good food, pleasant company, but the atmosphere was strange - normally the place is heaving at lunchtime, and yesterday it was never full, even with fewer tables. I really don't think many of our local cafes will survive.
I also finally sent out the cane-toad emails
Today I want to
- make phonecalls
- deliver 6 bags of goodies to the CS [fer-ling!]
- call at the corner shop
- make 2 scrunchies and some bunting
- bake scones and Twinks and a coffee cake and maybe a chocolate orange cake
- order some masks
- build the small bookshelf
- remove the shelves above the bed
- remove 3 large cupboard doors
- take Rosie for her walk
- find an old photo which I have promised to send to someone
- help DS1 with the bathroom repairs and pay him in cake9 -
Lovely larder Valli, but can I ask what is a DE jar? They look like coffee jars........oh wait Dowe Egberts is that it?
I have been knitting and absolutely nothing else all week.. My leg is most painful and I have 2 weeks to get the blanket finished and posted!

Mum's been down with my sister's beloved collection of centenary edition Charles Dickens books. If I'm going to keep them it's going to be where I can see them. Not happy with first spot but I've had an idea...
She's taken 2 facemasks, made from a pillowcase that was part of an M&S set which were on my sister's bed when she lived at home and which was passed on to DD. It's been excellent quality but the pillowcase finally gave up.
Other than pegging out the washing and emptying the DW I've not done much.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Kaz.. so sad but at least the poor family have closure.. run free fluff
Valli.. I have a leatherbound copy of the annotated Dickens... it is very much loved and pride of place on the bookcase! I got mine as a book prize in 4th year at juniors (current year 8 for those babies here) For coming top in every exam that year.. not sure what happened but I am dumb as they come now.

Oh Kaz that's sad, we caught two loose dogs one Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks back running about on the road, with the help of a neighbour we managed to track down their owners.
Thanks for kind words about DS. I know he is scared right now and there is nothing much I can do. Trying to encourage him to talk about it, if not with me then with his GF, he tends to bottle things up.
Tiring day at the paid stuff, made myself go out on the bike for an hour, cooked a chicken and chorizo pie (DSs favourite) and called at Li@l for a few things. Changed our bed and did two loads of washing. Kitchen floor is filthy but might do it first thing tomorrow.
ASB my Mum says my hair is "dirty blonde" too, I am not going back to highlights, if nothing else I have worked out my colour costs me £162 a year.
