A pleasant day although nothing like as planned. Started by deciding to go for a cycle ride, Mr N suggested going to hand-deliver a letter he'd written to his mum - 16mile round trip - so I suggested a picnic to break it up. Cue large black clouds. Delayed ride, so I printed off a mask pattern and started the memory-taxing process of threading up my sewing machine, which I haven't used for many years. Phone went; care home asking if it was ok for their hairdresser to do MIL's hair, as her own isn't allowed in yet. Mr N mentioned the letter-dropping whereupon they checked their new appointment book and suggested we actually visit her, in the garden at 2.45. Much frantic mask-sewing ensued and I got 2 done, after a fashion - Kazwookie we've been using motor bike neck tubes as well. Owing to weather and timing we drove there. MIL looked great, recognised us although a little bemused by masks, no hugs allowed, and lack of recognition of the part of the garden they had set up the meeting place. However a great experience for all.
Got home and I decided to go for a run, having not cycled. My furthest ever, Goodintentions you are encouraging me - 8.6km. Collapsed in a panting, sweaty heap on the lawn afterwards before crawling up to the shower.
Filled bird feeders.
Watered and checked greenhouse.
Arranged to do a video chat with my mum tomorrow hopefully on my phone so I can show her the new bedroom decorating and the garden.
Did a minor bit of cleaning and tidying, but need to catch up tomorrow.
Booked a Mr T slot - easy now; when I think back to all the midnight vigils back in March/April..............
Tomorrow's plan:
- make 2 more masks and finish/amend the first 2.
- pick gooseberries and make gooseberry fool.
- do some consistent flying. Especially places I might 'show' my mum on our chat.
- sow any seeds which are left.
- do more of my online course.
- do some drum practice (still the bongos; no sign of being let into the chapel yet).
- read gas and electric meters.
- pay cc bill.
- clear various other tasks on 'to do' list from emails.
And forgot to say - my bum is no smaller after all this running, so happy to plonk it where required if you need another!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning xx
When I went to bed I imagined myself wiggling my booty in amongst all the bootys sat on SB's box and settled in for the night. It was a lovely place to beIt didn't stop the weird dreams though - I've been lost in Sheffield after walking out of an Engelburt Tribute Act concert because the acts were carp, the audience (and some of the acts) were drunk, and I was expecting to see the real Engelburt and not mediocre to poor replicas. Where did that come from? lol
Usual morning routine here - bed is made, recycling will be put out, birds fed and birdbath filled before I pootle off.
I hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning
It’s a work day, so I’m off soon. DH is already on a phone call in the DR. Dinner out from the freezer and a load is in the wm, so hopefully DH will remember to hang it up later.
Well done, Narc0, on the run. I have taken to wearing my (very old!) 10k t shirt to the allotment as part of my use it or sling it campaign in the house. I only managed the distance a few of times without stopping, and now I would struggle 10m. So a big clap to you and GI.
Have a lovely day all, hope it’s not as grey and dull (and chilly - it’s July???) where you all are.6 -
YL you are very welcome. Part of the reason it's like that is the chimney breast for the lounge actually juts out into the kitchen. When we were planning the kitchen I realised I could have this tall, thin cupboard so I did. It added to the cost but it's so perfect ... the top shelf holds tall things including wine vinegars. I have another tall shelf in the middle, where the top doors meet the bottom doors and at the bottom, too. I also managed, in my redesign, to find room for both my TD which was in the shed, and a DW.
Dw and WM x 1. Currently spotting with rain but expected to improve soon.

Valli I love the layout as well, a credit to you, now off to make mine look similarKitchen doneTiles collected from tile shop, really don't like the person at served me, that is twice now this chap has made mistakes because he is talking and not concentrating, I now refuse to pay until I have looked at the screen and check what he is charging for, In among his talk today, he told me Tuesday's are his day off, I now know which day to go in if I need anything else. Off loaded out of the car, and stacked ready for tiler.General dusting done, it seems to be sifting around the house.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Love it Kaz - that's a positive outcome, right there!
Whoopsied mince out of the freezer - tonight it's chilli. I need to go shopping as my chilli powder was one of the spices that didn't survive the cull. I've had an email from Boots - my Bargain box (courtesy of last week's email pre-order tip) is in store to collect so I *might* go later (with a mask on) to pick it up. Even more of a bargain as I paid with points.
It's drizzly and damp here so not pegged out washing yet.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good afternoon! The day is slipping away from me again!
Fayolle well done on planting the leeks out
Narc0 well done on the run yesterday! I don't know how I am inspiring you? I have put off running again today!
I have put on WM and hung it out, and emptied the DW. I have also sorted out the cake box that was still in the kitchen - with an empty plate in it!!? DH was the last one to have cake - why was the plate not moved!? We have both been ignoring it for a week! In my defence, I was ignoring the last bit of cake......I didn't know it wasn't there!
Other than that, I have been faffing on my phone all morning. Can you imagine how much I would get done if I didn't have a phone, or FB!?!
I need to get my @rse in gear! I was up early as I had to take the little girl to school - had a chat with my neighbour on the way home, but I have wasted the morning, and then I get cross with myself. I haven't even looked at the lists....maybe I should start there (*enter lightbulb emoji here!*) I also want to do a little of my online course today, and I have a webinar tonight. At least my fitbit makes me move every hour - can you imagine if I didn't have it?The only reason I have done anything is to get those 250 steps every hour!! I will check in later with my progress (if I make any!)

I've done not a lot this afternoon, watched it rain, and 'supervised' the electrician.Questions:-1. eyelet curtain with metal enclosed type rings, are not gliding up / down the curtain pole (sticking half way) The pole is smooth, the metal rings and curtains are new~~~~ any thoughts as to how to solve it?2. Radiators, have a small open type grid on top of them about 4mm gap in the grids, the top does not seem to come off, but I can see loads of dust at the top on the inner metal bit, I've tried the hoover nozzle but cannot get the dust out~~ any ideas?Thank youBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Kaz you can try some wax on either the rings or pole and a lolly stick or flat thin piece of wood with some damp rag or cotton ball attached for the radiator
No flying done today - had a massive headache all day and have been trying to sleep it off 😔9 -
Kaz
check eyelets and pole is smooth if if it - wax as Squirrelgirl says
