Santander mortgage timeline

Honestly this waiting is horrible! I don’t understand why they push you to the back of the queue when they ask you for something and you give it straight away. 

Ours was sent to the queue on 19th - 8 working day turnaround we were told. Now it seems we are back at the start of the queue (I’m not sure to be honest) and have to wait an additional 10 days??

Does anyone that has applied with a mortgage broker know if we can track the mortgage process ourselves? Hate having to ask for updates!

I think only the broker can access the tracker as they have to put in there details but if your broker is willing to give you the details so you can check yourself then that'll be easier for you.

Hello, 

Please anyone can help me if anyone is in the same situation. Santander has completed desktop valuation and now they wanted to do Physical Valuation of the new build property. Has this happened to anyone?

I don’t quite understand how they work either…. You would think they would want to deal with what’s in front of them quickly. For instance when they asked for my driving license it was pinged back with in half an hour of requesting it. Surely you would just go straight back to that case ? 

I’m genuinely feeling very upset with the whole situation it’s ruining my days ☹️

As a wee bit of hope for anyone with a less than fantastic credit rating. I finished my DMP with stepchange nearly 6 years ago. It was 44k all in and took me 5 years to pay every penny back. We got approved for a mortgage on our dream house yesterday with santander with an 85% ltv, mortgage is 280k. 
I just wanted to reassure everyone that there's life after debt so don't give up hope.

Does anyone that has applied with a mortgage broker know if you get email or text updates? I’ve seen where direct applications have got them, but not sure if I will as I used a broker

For what is worth, we have applied through a broker recently and so far we have only received one email directly from Santander, acknowledging the application for the mortgage the same day that it was submitted by our broker.

Since then, our application has progressed through multiple stages but we only knew about it from our broker, no further emails from Santander

Yep, we had nothing from santander, only updates when we chased our broker
