So is it that they approve the application first subject to valuation or valuation first then the checks?

We applied on the 23rd of June !  

and we are still waiting ! I’m so stressed out ! It’s been nearly 6 weeks since we applied 😬 I’m checking my emails every few hours. Our original mortgage expired ( we also extended it but the chain wasn’t ready to go and now it is 😵‍💫 ) 

this buying and selling malarkey is beyond stressful and I just want it to all be over 😩

I managed to find on the Santander website it says their service times for applications via intermediaries says that today they are reviewing applications passed to underwriters on 19th July. (This is the date ours was passed to underwriters having applied on 6th July)

Have you chased your broker at all?

I managed to find on the Santander website it says their service times for applications via intermediaries says that today they are reviewing applications passed to underwriters on 19th July. (This is the date ours was passed to underwriters having applied on 6th July)

Have you chased your broker at all?

Yes I have , he has said they have given this Friday as the deadline for the offer to be given. In all honesty the timeline given on there page changes daily and doesn’t seem to correlate with any of our dates/timings.

I feel like it’s lost 🤷🏻‍♀️ We last heard from the underwriter 2 weeks ago , they requested my driving license. It was promptly handed over….. that’s the only extra thing they asked for. I know it’s passed through affordability, valuation done just awaiting them to make the official decision. 

At this point I’m just very stressed because we need the offer now 😩

I’m glad someone else is in the same boat as us. It’s very draining ☹️

We currently stand at 28 days , I’m having the extra stress of sales progressors chasing me every other day. 

I hope yours comes through soon.

I hope yours goes through aswell as you've been waiting longer than me😔,my solicitor emailed me 2 weeks ago saying the seller solicitor has already sent a copy of the contract to my solicitor and I've had to tell him that I can't really do anything u til I get response from the mortgage side of things( haven't even started searches yet)🙄

I hope yours goes through aswell as you've been waiting longer than me😔,my solicitor emailed me 2 weeks ago saying the seller solicitor has already sent a copy of the contract to my solicitor and I've had to tell him that I can't really do anything u til I get response from the mortgage side of things( haven't even started searches yet)🙄

Tbh I’m sure ours is a fairly straightforward case I don’t really understand why it’s taking so long. We have very good credit scores and haven’t ever not paid our current mortgage on time. I honestly just feel like it’s lost at the very back of the pile. Times ticking and when we applied for this mortgage the broker understood we needed the offer ASAP 😒

Yeah mines similar aswell I've had a mortgage for the last 8 years never missed a payment paid off all my debts, putting down a 50k deposit for a 71% LTV mortgage but likes yours must be at the very bottom of the pile, but don't lose hope. 👍

Oh ours is very similar ! 

I will give an update when we hear something. Fingers crossed we are out of our misery soon 🤞🏻
