    Afternoon all!

Joining in here, look forward to waiting with you all!

    My timeline so far:
    25/05 - offer accepted
31/05 - application submitted by broker (was surprised to get an email from Santander on a BH!)

Today (01/06) our broker asked to confirm if our jobs/incomes had been affected by Covid-19 and if we had been furloughed at any point (apparently Santander are asking this explicitly for all applications).

Our broker said Santander are taking up to 5 days to review initial documentation, so not expecting to hear anything further this week.

We are in no hurry with our purchase as we are in a rental contract until end of October, and don't want to have to double up on mortgage and rent payments for too long!

    Have a good evening all.
  • My broker was told today the Underwriters are on a three day backlog and are currently looking at cases from the 26th May! God help us when the price renegotiations kick in at the end of June!!!

How long did it take for people who been accepted to get the mortgage offer through. Ours has been approved subject to valuation but waiting on the valuation one again for it be fully approved it’s the same property and had already been valued a few weeks ago from our last application and they haven’t contacted the seller again to re value as we are in a private sale... we got offer near enough straight away last time but hasn’t come through as of yet this time round

Hi my broker told me if the house have been valued then that lasts for 9 months, as we going through probate and he said if probate takes it’s time the house would need to have another valuation after 9 months, check with your broker incase it don’t need to have another valuation, we had our paperwork through within 3 days

    Mortgage approved! Yaaaay
    Amazing news! Congrats!!

We chased our MB last night and they've chased Santander this morning after more radio silence. They've confirmed the additional company statements have been accepted but it is still with the underwriters and they won't have a decision for another couple of days, at which point they may or may not ask for more documents/info.

    So frustrating!!!

    Hi,

Please let us know when you do find out. Has your MB mentioned anything about your application being passed to the Mortgage Centre?

Ours was supposedly passed there on Friday last week but we still haven't had an offer come through.
Does anyone actually know what happened at this mortgage centre?
Is it too soon to rest easy?
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what the standard updates Santander provide. Good luck with the valuation. Hope it goes well.
  • I've been following this thread, but not been posting as I thought our application would take forever (I'm self-employed, husband is not British and also we have foreign currency income).

    Our timeline:
    19/04 - DIP
28/04 - Appointment with broker and all documents sent to broker followed by 2 weeks of questions from our broker and them going back and forth with Santander and also "extra checks because your husband is American"
12/05 - Finally full application submitted to Santander - confirmation email from Santander of receiving our application
19/05 - Questions from Santander about a bounced direct debit on my bank statements and about whether my husband is going to be required to travel for his job (and have to cover expenses) as it's mentioned in the contract
    20/05 - Valuation done
01/06 - Call from broker to say Santander are going to offer and confirmation email from Santander saying "We're pleased to confirm we've issued your mortgage offer" - yay!

14 working days from application to offer :)

How long have others had to wait between the confirmation email and receiving the actual offer?
  • Urgh, more questions my way today re a credit card payment on my bank statement. Quick to answer but back to the queue I go for what I assume will be another week or so  :(
