I’m feeling so stressed by all this today! Anyone else planning to beat the stamp duty deadline but Santander have completed buggered that up for you? Also the average days on their website seem way off from reading everyone’s stories on here. I am on the 22nd day of our self employed mortgage application and so far all theyve done is ask really irrelevant questions if I could go back in time I would have never applied for the mortgage with them it’s been awful and I feel like we have got a long way to go. I was a sane person before all this and now I feel like I’m going actually crazy 😂

I’ve just spoken to someone on the phone. Unfortunately they said they are behind and although the website says they are sending documents to the underwriters from May 24th they said it’s more like May 21st. Don’t know how reliable this is but I’ve been told to wait 10-12 for a final decision included completed valuation.

Have they given you a valuation date? My valuation is on 9 June, 3 weeks after application date, they are definitely behind the website service level. I remember we applied on the same day so our timeline is more relevant to each other.

Yep!!! We're exactly the same!!! I feel like those who submitted applications first should be prioritised it's really unfair. I keep seeing people's applications being approved within a week or 2 who submitted after us, even tho I'm delighted for them, it's really unfair that Santander aren't prioritising those who applied so long ago and instead still asking ridiculous questions and for ridiculous things! We're also on the self employed timeline and just sent the company bank statements across which is completely ridiculous since my partner is PAYE but as it's a family business they're asking for everything in the world from us, but then we don't hear for 2 weeks, and then they ask something ridiculous again!!! No chance of meeting the stamp duty deadline now!

Here comes another bank holiday weekend of hearing nothing! The stress is real!
We've still not heard anything back, sent the company bank statements across on weds, don't expect to hear anything until late next week, everything on our application has been so slow.
Presumably we're back with the underwriters for further review and we know that means they'll just ask for more, more, more, over a number of weeks. This sucks.
We went back to underwriters yesterday. I think if you’ve already been once in the que you should jump be able to go to the front as most of it will of been underwritten!

It's such a painfully long process isn't it! Why not just ask for everything upfront that they could potentially ever need and there is less back and forward saving them time too! I just don't get it at all!

I asked my partner to phone them to see if they prioritise applications who have been in the underwriters que before but he won’t. Told me to be patient 😂 how can I be patient when you forgot to add our bloody child onto the application? We was approved last time it took literally a week that’s why I’m more frustrated now x

I called them as I have had to send additional documents and had to go back to underwriters, and they said that what you see online is inaccurate in the sense that your case never leaves the underwriters, they just have to review the extra information. I call every day anyway, as I am not including my partner in the process, and it has given me peace of mind to be able to find out first hand if all is proceeding ok.

When did you go to the underwriters? So we could know before 7 days? As our email said 3 working days but that was the first time we went to the underwriters and then they requested more info so feel as though it going to be another week again! x

I went to the underwriters on 22/05. They have come back with questions every single day since 24/05, the only quiet day has been today (until now), so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope this will be the end of it. At this point, I honestly do not worry so much about getting declined, I just want the wait to be over.
