Ours went to the underwriters first thing last Weds the 12th and we were told we'd hear from them in 7 working days, so I'm hoping by the end of today or tomorrow as I can't take much more 🙏
I'll update this thread so you'll have an idea if they mean what they say lol
Did you apply direct or though a broker?
I applied direct as we're porting our mortgage. I had a call from them a little while ago and my heart sank lol. But they said they're happy with hubby's income now, from what the accountant supplied, but the underwriter wanted to knock 2k off hubby's dividends due to projected earnings which would take our income multiple from just under 5 to just over, meaning a reduction of 7k in what they'd lend. We'd happily live with that but because when I applied in March I only had a contract, rather than a payslip (I started my new job in the same department on 1 March) they'd only counted my previous income and I earn 6k a year more now. So I've submitted my payslip and hopefully we'll get final approval really soon!
Feel like I can breathe a bit now 😂 although we'll still have the valuation to go.
Hopefully it means the timescales they're quoting are accurate for everyone too xx

I’ve been waiting since Monday and not heard anything. Don’t think the timelines are accurate as on the website it says 18th underwriters

Our broker provided further information on Monday (17th) and called Santander today for an update when the told her it would be at least another 2 working days before we get an update due to a backlog

Thanks for the update. My broker was chasing them yesterday too. Been with underwriters since last Friday - the service levels are clearly not ‘2 working days’

im geared up for another weekend of angst 😩

Do the Santander underwriting/general mortgage team work weekends? Ie when they say working days do they mean Monday to Friday? Or Monday to Saturday? We are holding up a chain of 5 and I’m being so chased by estate agents as everyone wants to get in before the stamp duty holiday.

    Thank you 😊
  • We had Dip on 30th April full application submitted shortly after, request for accountants letter etc uploaded on the 7th last weekend reduced lend proposed of 200k against 247k requested back in queue MB reckons its a formality but we been basically on hold since last Friday! They are working late evenings and Saturdays but I can see a load of requests for reduced prices to allow for lost stamp duty discount!!
