Starting to get a bit annoyed with these solicitors. Sellers solicitors say they sent the draft contracts over yesterday afternoon, but my solicitors are saying they haven't received anything.
Need this so that the searches can be ordered. Sometimes I wish these guys just pick up the phone and communicate with each other rather than email non stop.
I have been on the phone to my solicitor, she sent an email to vendor solicitor last week and still haven’t heard anything
  • Update from me - called our broker today to ask what was happening as she had to provide some clarification on my payslip on Friday. Turns out they asked her for another payslip this morning which she said they didn’t need as they already have 3 belonging to me, they’ve taken this and it’s back in the underwriting queue.
Starting to get really nervous now but surely they wouldn’t be asking this many questions if they were going to decline us? Has anyone any experience of lots of questions back and forward about payslips or anything else then an offer being made?
Basically I’ve had quite a few (full paid) sick days and holiday days dotted here and there due to having a rough pregnancy and I’m now worried this could be enough for them to say no 😭😭
So this is exactly what happened with me. Sadly had a pregnancy loss so had 6 weeks of full sick pay which was shown in 2 consecutive payslips. I got my payroll department and line manager to write emails on headed paper to confirm that I was back to work but santander unfortunately declined us after 4 long weeks of back and forward. They told mortgage rgage broker they would reopen our case when they received a full payslip showing no sick pay. It was the longest 3 weeks of my life having to wait but once they had that, we were approved a few days later. Fingers crossed this may be an option for you
Ah I’m so sorry to hear that 😞
Jesus I really hope they don’t decline us over that! They did ask for my last payslip which had 1 sick day on it - my next one is in 2 weeks and it won’t have any sick days, just lots of holiday pay but they were asking about holiday pay on my payslip too, along with an explanation for “maternity appointment”. My mortgage advisor told them I was pregnant and this was the reason for the sick days and the  appointments.

Hi, just been reading through the recent comments where people have had issues. :(
Dip 26/04 then my application went to the underwriters on the 29/04 then I finally heard from them yesterday, 10/05 where I was told it was declined based on income multiples.(was allowed to borrow a lot less though.) Devastating as it was the person I spoke with was lovely and tried every avenue and looked over all the income. So they wouldn't take child benefit because our reasons were not good enough if they were to cease, as in a good enough reason would have been if you are working part time but will be returning to full time hours. This was the same reason for why they wouldn't take the tax credits too. They wouldn't take my btl income because my bank statement shown the rent coming in from my mum instead of the tenant but I explained that this is because I own this with my mum and the rent gets paid into her bank acc every month which she transfers to me. Both our names are on the tenancy agreement and mortgage too, so to be honest it was pretty ridiculous they wouldn't accept that, but never mind! Then they wouldn't accept my employee flexible benefits which are guaranteed and paid every month, even the person I spoke with didnt quite understand why they didn't accept this. so this left us with our basic salaries which left us unable to borrow enough sadly. So Ithen asked the vendors if they would accept 15k less which they accepted amazingly ( I think this is because we're so far down the line now with all solicitor searches complete). I then spoke to a mortgage broker straight after this who immediately got us a DiP with halifax for a higher amount and the full application and documents have been submitted today. So I'm hoping to god its ok this time or we will be pulling out!

Hopefull this helps people going forward though who are in a similar boat with Income they are submitting to Santander.

Ours was today between 8am and 2pm. We received our offer on the same day last time round so hopefully we won't have to wait too long this time either.

Well I got an auto response today saying my conveyancer is on holiday till the 3/6. He didn't even let me know himself that he will be away or who will be taking over the file if anyone.

Sellers solicitors have been a nightmare also sending over draft contracts. For some reason they weren't able to email it over as it didn't work. Searches havent been applied for yet either because of this.

God knows what happens now ....
