  • Hi Everyone, I just thought to post my timeline here for Santander Mortgage as Joint First Time Buyers using Help to Buy Equity Loan. I feel blessed to have come across this group during our process as I became aware of important things as well as the process. Hopefully, our timeline can help others.

    Timeline:

DIP - First (10/03/2021) then Second one (17/03/2021)
Application Submitted - 17/03/2021 (Text Message from Santander)
    Valuation Instructed - 19/03/2021
Query Raised (Home Address Information, provided proof of address) - 22/03/2021
    Valuation Report - 26/03/2021
Offer Issued - 30/03/2021 (Text Message from Santander)

Overall, I became calm when I found out about this group on the 18th of March and just followed everyone's timeline. I realised that Santander actually instruct for valuation very quickly and my MA was a bit behind in informing us, so I kept calling to get update. Sometimes, this MA want to make it look like they are doing so much work and can extend the time themselves, so I would advise that you call them every 5-7 days, if you have not received any update. Our MA was good as she did chase things up but just behind with information. She also did let us know that everything looked good (i.e. when I called), and we would get an offer soon and this came the same day (or the next, can't remember lol).

PS: We are buying a new build property that is due for completion in July 2021. So not really sure how the valuation will be done, but we got the valuation report and offer in the post from Santander. We managed to get the MA to send a copy of the offer document from the portal, which she downloaded and sent to us (i.e. this is the intermediary copy). We wanted to just go through the offer document as ours was sent out via pot and it might take a while. So we sent their copy to our solicitor as well, just to let her know things were moving forward.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I think you are asking about the offer text message. Our MA informed us that it would be issued that day before the text came in.

Also, I never knew the whole process was very daunting and stressful, as we went with Santander because the rate was brilliant compared to NatWest. Even though we had booked to go with NatWest until they asked about new documents for my work (as I only started my new Job in February). This was not a problem for Santander, as my contract and first payslip was all good.

I am hopeful that everyone will receive theirs soon.
  • I would have expected you to have heard by now Cookie as we both had our applications go in at the same time.

I'm just waiting for the offer to be sent to me. My broker has it along with the solicitors I've not had my copy. I'm guessing it will have been posted and the Easter break has held things up.
