I have been so stressed but santander have been amazing, I am now a home owner.
My credit file wasn't perfect as I had settled loans with lots of missed payments but I settled it and got balance to zero 3 months ago.
Santander never even mentioned them as I had a couple of years of good credit history on my credit cards etc. Keep the faith you will get there.

In case anyone is waiting nervously, I was told today that Santander Underwriters are running behind and haven't looked at any cases from the 10th yet... whether this is true or just wanted me off the phone I am not sure.0

Hi everyone, thought I will provide my recent experience with excellent Mortgage broker and Santander.
DIP-I had couple one on 1st March and one just before application, different interest rates and types of mortgages for comparison.
I applied for part/part mortgage with 70% LTV also first time buyer.
DIP 8/03-approved, Santander verified income only asked for ID and proof of address for full application
9/03 full application (ID+proof of address only+memorandum of sale)
same day MB sends interest only paperwork to sign, plus confirmation I was not impacted by Covid19
10/03 MB asks when the sale of the house of my parents will be completed (my deposit)and valuation is instructed by Santander
11/03 application goes to underwriters(MB sends me screenshots of tracker)
13/03 valuation booked by Santander for 18/03
15/03(Monday morning at 730am) application agreed by underwriters subject to valuation
Waiting for tomorrow valuation and offer should be send to MB and hard one to me.
I also asked if I need to re-pay couple of credit cards(I have said in my application I am oket to repay them prior to mortgage),apparently Santander works on the basis you will not re-pay them.
MB mentioned over 20 years he only had two cases where the asked more questions after agreeing.
Very happy with a fast progress, fingers crossed valuation won't be undervalued as house had 12 offer and I had to offer a higher price to get it.1 -

Got a remortgage in progress with santander, valuation is booked for Monday, app submitted yesterday. Do they underwrite prior to valuation or instruct valuation then underwrite. It is 75% LTV and I was just curious why they wouldn't use a HPI as it looks like it is either a drive by.
Credit check and final under write completed 15th March. Full survey carried out 17th March and reviewed by Santander today 18th. They seem to have marked something incorrectly and ask for a full cladding report on my house, something that isn't required. Query raised back but it will take 24 hours to rectify, so frustrating as I belive it will be offer out after this.0 -

This is my timeline so far. Waiting on one more document which I will have by Monday to send them and hoping that's all. Has anyone had the underwriters come back more than once? Me and my partner applying for first mortgage 90% and application went to underwriters and they sent back 4 or 5 requests for me and only 2 for my partner. Could they request more? So nervous!!!0
