I heard that their rates are lower comparing to the HSBC or Barclay's
That was the information we got from our MA.

My solicitor got my offer faxed to him today as it still hadn't arrived. He's sent my a document to sign that attaches the mortgage to the property, it says on the document a witness must sign it. Who can  and can't be used as a witness?
Solicitors are closed and I've been at work all day and couldn't get through earlier.

    Thanks  in advance

Work colleague should be fine, i am not sure about family member, I guess if different surname should be ok, ask your solicitor if you have any doubt on family members witness.
  • First time poster, FTB in Scotland having a mare with my MB.
    Offer accepted - 17/2
Application submitted - 25/2 (MB went for one for a house rather than flat by mistake, therefore took a week)
MB advised agreed subject to receiving copy of valuation on 2/3 and then MB advised HR was accepted on 5/3 but haven't heard thing since and haven't received any documentation from Santander or them after asking apart from one text to confirm they received it on the 25/2. Is this normal?

I am due to Complete on Monday can anyone advise who to use for building insurance? On the offer it states set requirements and want to make sure I have the correct insurance in place.

    Thanks

there are so many articles on MSE website and link of comparison websites in order of cheapest quote they can get you. Unless there is very specific condition mentioned in your offer, the others are very general.
NOTE: If you have exchanged, i would say get your building insurance as soon as possible as you're in contract to buy the house or lose the exchange deposit if anything goes wrong. So do it starting from today.
    Thanks

Check on your mortgage offer for any specific amount you required to insure. If you already exchange of contracts you should have Insurance from that date. check for comparison sites for better quote, try to buy known companies also check who is underwriters for insurance specific company,, some times same underwriter for different brand names..
