23/2 underwriter and valuation instructed.

I have came across many articles on the Internet about santander withdrawing offers on completion day. I thought this would be a rare occurance but it seems its quite regular.
Can anyone Confirm how likely it would be that santander withdraw the offer as I'm worrying myself sick about it now. I have been completly honest with everything and hope all will go through.
Surely there should be a law to protect us buyers from financial collapse.0 -
Hi samster1: I have read such horror stories as well. I am due to complete next weekend as well. My solicitor has a written confirmation from bank that they will release the funds on the specific date.samster1 said:I have came across many articles on the Internet about santander withdrawing offers on completion day. I think for bank to withdraw offer is subject to person doing a mortgage fraud or if their circumstances changed substantially. Finger crossed. When are you suppose to complete.1 -
I also read this, the stress from exchange to completion was awful, I was so worried this would happen. I believe this only happens if something flagged on your credit score, or if your situation changed, so basically make sure you pay everything on time and don’t take any credit out. We completed on our house and rented the house we were buying for a month, we didn’t even cancel our bills on the old house we just kept paying everything so there would chance of late payments. Santander never actually did a credit check before we completed.samster1 said:I have came across many articles on the Internet about santander withdrawing offers on completion day. Hi 85c: True. I am spending very less (not even my weekly grocery shopping) on my credit card etc as well. But still this fear is really daunting. I am not going to apply for any credit but it is good to know they don't do a credit check at completion. Salary been paid for February and the only DD left to go is my credit card bill which will go out on 10th. Fingers crossed.85c said:I also read this, the stress from exchange to completion was awful, I was so worried this would happen.
