Hi everyone! Been following this thread for a while now, so I thought I would share my experience with you.
I applied together with my partner for a residential mortgage (we're at our second try after being rejected by another lender) back in January. On the 26th the application was received by Santander. We went through a broker as the property we're buying is a shared ownership with the local council, so help to buy and all of that. Moreover we're both presently furloughed, but Santander said they would take us into consideration with a return to work letter, which we had. We were asked for additional documents on the 2nd, then answered their question about our job situation on the the 10th and after that it has been complete silence.
Communication with our broker has been difficult, she needs to be chased every now and then but now she hasn't been answering our emails for more than a week - as of today appears to be on leave (?!) - and we're just assuming it's going to be bad news when it comes. How does this timeline looks like? Do they send something directly to you when it's rejected or is it always through broker? Is there anything at all we could be doing right now? The wait is really not bearable anymore and time is also running out for the stamp duty holiday

I've now had two valuations cancelled due to the home report being slightly past the 3 months limit
Spoke to santander tonight and they have said that the will raise again with case manager and add the details not to cancel this and explain.
I'm wondering if I'm going to be quicker paying for a retype of the home report and resubmitting?
Anyone had this? Advice appreciated!

Like @85c, I was surprised to find they didn't run a further check prior to completion. Nothing showing up on my credit file since the original hard check in December.0 -
