The questions have started for us. Or rather, me, as my husbands credit file is clean as a whistle.
Good luck! We’re at the same stage, wanted husbands 3 months of statements (SE) and an explanation for one of his years being lower than the other 2.
If they’ve just asked for an explanation it might be pretty quick for you as I’m sure some of those are just done as broker messages 👍🏻
Thank you! It was questions about a few (three) missed payments from three/four years ago when I was studying - hoping our answers are good enough. I’m on annual leave for the rest of the year from tomorrow - if we get an answer before then I’ll be cracking open the champagne for breakfast!
Haha don’t blame you! I’d do the same and I’m not on annual leave 😂
I reckon you can get through those questions, it was ages ago and I’d assume your circumstances are different now so not likely to be repeated and not classed as a huge risk to them.
  • First post but have been following for some time. Trying to get a mortgage for a new build, HTB already agreed, 72% LTV mortgage.
We put in our application on 1/10, I'm employed with the NHS, partner is SE. We went via a broker and submitted bank statements and 3 years SA032 (inc 19/20 accounts)- underwriter came back wanting accountants certificate which was provided. Then they asked for extra pay slips (I get paid the same every month!), and then they came back and asked for accountants predictions for 20/21 tax year! Everything now with them but slowly losing hope that we'll ever get our house! And now have no idea where we are in the queue!

We applied the same date, both SE, ltd company, unfortunately declined us last Thursday after 9 weeks, but for no reason so Santander business manager has appealed it. But the fact they are asking for 20/21 predictions I’d say it’s a good sign, we where never asked for that but submitted everything else you did, so I think that’s positive.

Hey! I am in almost exactly same position as you, employed NHS and other SE. First time buyers, mortgage application via broker for 85% LTV. Application went in on 10/11 submitted same as you sa302 and my bank statements (employed) and also wage slips etc. Day after they requested 3 months business account statements and asked whether business effected by covid answered these and now in queue for underwriters.
I am just wondering at what point did they ask you for the accountant certificate and accountant predictions? I am just wondering whether to expect this or not!
Hopefully you will hear back soon!!

They will definitely ask your accountant to fill in the Santander form, they asked us at 6/7 weeks in.
  • I have been watching the service levels since 11 November willing them on and now we are almost at the top of the queue I am feeling so stressed! It really seems to be luck of the draw as to which underwriter you get from what I can see having watched this thread!

Just to give you a heads up....we were due to hit the top when it reached the 9th Nov and the UW made contact with us whilst it was showing the 5th Nov, so it’s not 100% accurate! Now hoping for the same whilst we wait for them to assess the docs we sent back on Monday because that queue hasn’t moved for days!! 😂
  • Bit of a sad First Post, but after a 6-7 week wait with Santander, we've just been rejected.
Both my OH and I are self-employed and I am a company director with income affected during COVID.
Half way through our application a new rule on reviewing company bank statements came through. This showed the income dip and despite healthy bank balance and a return to billings, they'd only consider based on matching income to profit over this period.
Now trying our luck with Nationwide. Fingers crossed...

We were asked for the accountants certificate on 26/10 and then for the forecast of next years accounts mid Nov so about 6/7 weeks into our application. My partner had to submit his accounts for April 2020 - Oct 2020 to the accountant and then they made a forecast on the rest of the financial year which took a couple of weeks to get back. So now back to the waiting game!
