UW has asked my accountant to confirm why my income has increased and if its sustainable. This is due to promotion. Anyone else had this and what was the result?
Yes we were asked this (my brother whom is SE), asked ‘why 19/20 tax year shows a significant increase of income compared to previous tax year’. Explanation from you such as a promotion is more than valid!

That doesn’t sound bad at all. They’re probably just trying to work out why it went up, if it’s a promotion then it’s sustainable, whilst If it was a one of bonus then it wouldn’t be. Fingers crossed for you ☺️

Update from MB, accounts filed with companies house, Santander business manager has taken it to her boss as said we should never have been declined, and wants him to cross reference it and get out the Appel cue, so something a bit positive.
That is great news. I feel positive for you, I cant see any reason why you were declined if you had good affordability weighted against the cost of the mortgage from 2 years worth accounts and a predication. They do prediction for salaried applications also.

    Hi There,
Can I ask how they can do salaried predictions? I am on a fixed salary, and just thinking if they will be asking for any more documents - We have been waiting since 25th September.

Thank you, yep affordability is no problem, no debt, excellent credit, business grew through covid, we are busier then ever. That’s why we were so shocked, not even an offer.

    How is it Friday again.....😩😅😩😅😩😅
  • From my broker :

We should have received an update today, but this has been escalated to the higher underwriters department.
As the underwriters are working all weekend, I should get an update for you by close of business Monday.

Anyone knows what this could mean from previous experience?

  • Hi All,
Still no news from Santander and it’s Friday already! I have tried calling them directly but they can’t seem to give me any answers and they advise to go through the broker instead!!

Do you know how quickly Santander are when instructing AND carrying out the property valuation once the underwriter is happy with the application ?  Thank You

Did you go back into a week long queue or did they reply that day?
