Does anyone know the timescales for both employed, not been affected by covid! I am stressed to death and worried we going to get to the front of queue then get declined or asking for more info!
I only waited 14 working days in total from full application. Obviously everyone is different but hopefully that helps a bit.

Did you get asked for anything additional? We are only 8 days in, and been told we will hear in the next couple of days but I’m not feeling it with the comments!  Then also just got a horrible feeling it’s not going to happen- although I have heard their DIP is pretty secure! Thank you!

Just to let you know a lot of us on here are SE applications so don’t listen too much to us and our timelines 😂 from what I’ve seen of the employed ones if you’ve not had furlough and don’t work in a high risk industry then it seems to be quite straightforward, also you guys go in a different queue which is a lot faster than the one that we’re all sat in. Hopefully you’ll be sorted out soon, good luck

That’s ok. I don’t think they asked for anything else but my mortgage broker had it all on file so if they did he didn’t mention it. It’s horrible waiting but I’m sure it will be fine! I managed to convince myself on numerous occasions that we were going to be declined, it’s a horrible waiting game.

My mortgage broker has loads of information from us, but god it’s a headache and a half and seems no one posts about positive experiences anywhere it’s always negative. Not sure how I will feel if it gets declined!!

So 8.5 weeks in to application, broker told us we’d have an update last week, spoke to her yesterday saying it would be in next few days. I really don’t like our broker. I’ve had another broker approach me saying she can get one through with Halifax’s in weeks. Especially as we already have our mortgage with them. I don’t know what to do. We don’t care what it costs we just need that mortgage we are so close to losing the house we are buying.

Have you called up santander yourself 85c? I'd try that first and if no luck, see if there are any threads like this about Halifax or start a thread asking for experiences. It seems you're so close to the finishing line now and Halifax could take just as long! I found santander very helpful when I called them and the time lines they gave me were spot on (despite me not being convinced with some of them!).
We had to put our house back on the market on Friday :(

Oh no I’m so sorry what happened?
I tried once but they said because we went through a broker they couldn’t tell us anything. Are u with a broker? That’s a good idea about Halifax.?
  • We had a DIP, valuation and offer from Halifax within 7 working days - back in October (we were trying to buy an unusual house & only Halifax could lend on it!)

santander has been a bit of a shock to the system.
  • I should add that the “unusual house” purchase fell through :(

Now we’re buying a bog standard house with Santander
