Santander mortgage timeline

  • Good morning all, I've been reading this very useful forum for few days and have some questions hoping someone more expert can give me an idea about my application timeline.
How do you know at what stage you are? I read stuff like I'm a top of the queue, mine passed UW yesterday and is now at this steps etc... Do you calculate this using Santander service level page or there is a way of actually checking it?
My application via broker went in 4th November, I'm employed full time with £45k + bonus salary, mortgage of £110k for shared ownership, FTB, maximum credit score, 85%LTV.
Can anyone give me an idea of timeline or is something the broker only has access to?
    Thanks a lot

Hi, it took me ages to figure this out too! you can look at the tracker for intermediaries online. But only your broker can tell you what date your application went into the underwriting queue. For example my application was submitted 23/10 and it went into the queue on 29/10.

  • How’s it not moved off 26th today....

It seems to be like this every Friday. Someone said maybe it’s because some people are part time etc.

Tell me bout it! It’s on the same date it was on Wednesday! They made so much progress mon-wed and then....nothing 😖
  • Maybe they had an underwriters away day? 😀
  • hello
we are both employed!!  LTV 80%     first time buyer  but  NOT HTB!!
    24/10 application submitted
29/10 They asked  few questions, my Broker replied the same day
24/11 They asked another copy of certified document because a "Dot" above letter "i" was not very clear !!
27/11 broker contacted them again and they said by the end of next week they will check again , means back to underwriter's queue.

i hope next week they don't ask for new payslips as that is start of new month and then again 1 more week to wait!!!!!

Hi all, I have been reading various threads to see which if timelines are reasonable as have had an offer accepted on a property 7 weeks after accepting an offer on ours so didn’t want any delays caused by mortgage.

I thought it would be good to add our timeline for others in a similar position.

    25/11 submitted application
    25/11 valuations instructed
25/11 documents requested and provided (payslips)
25/11 questions asked and answered (previous names, whether we have been furloughed)
    25/11 joined UW queue

27/11 Another question (how we acquired our current house) the the same message re: being passed to the underwriters.

Do we go to the back of the underwriting queue each time a question is asked and answered?

We had a little update yesterday... MB rang Santander and they confirmed it’s still waiting for final UW approval but they did confirm the valuation came back satisfactory! At least that’s one thing less to worry about.. MB thinks we’ll get a decision this week 🤞🏼

It goes back In a queue to be reviewed yes. Not the big one though, I think the ‘documents to be assessed’ queue normally sits around 5 working days.
