  • I believe that forumites were discouraged from trading referrals "in thread" but there was a designated section of the site created for this purpose.  But that this has now been discontinued altogether and any referral codes have to be negotiated off site. I was sorry to see it disappear. I don't know however if this is the latest up to date information.

  • Interesting comments so far regarding NR. They seem to be the cheapest for my region at the moment and I’m 90% certain I’ll switch from Bulb. Bulb have been largely ok but their number of prices increases in such a short space of time has been ridiculous. 

    What is everyone’s experience with NR’s customer service? I see their chat function is down, no telephone number to call and only way to get in touch is via email. That sets off alarm bells in my mind…

    Been OK in my experience.  Chat function only appears between 9 and 5 (as thats when its live...or at least it used to be as not had cause to use it for a few weeks so it might have changed).   I've found they have been pretty quick to respond and things like DD changes, etc have been dealt with promptly.  Email response can be a bit slow (several days) but they have always got back eventually.  

    I can put up with these minor inconveniences for the low price (luckily we switched both my stepdaughters and our own tariffs to one of their fixed deals just before the rates went up significantly so I'm obviously keen they keep in business)

    Edit:  just tried chat at 10.00 and I see they "will be back soon".  Guess they are not as active on chat as before...not so good.

    NR don't even quote for those like you with 2 MPANs.

    Rather surprised Bulb accepted you, but then their open policy always was to hook 'em in then hike their price, as you have now discovered.
    With 2 MPANs, it was inevitable when your supply was switched to Bulb, they knew you were you were checking into the Hotel California of Bulb.

    Thank you for your concern about “those like me”. However, rest assured that I am no longer part of such a sub-standard class of energy consumers having now had a smart meter installed two months ago. If I had known you took such a keen interest I would have informed you throughout my life changing transition.

    Thanks Shedman, that’s a helpful insight. I hope the downtime leads to improvements rather than as a way of cutting back.

    Poor dog...its legs must be worn down as its been over 2.5 hours now  :D
  • Oh dear.
    Trying to switch to them.
    Not a good start...no phone number which would be ok but: chat function been offline during working hours more often than not.
    Emails are either completely ignored or remain unanswered for days (or indeed a week in the case of last one)
    And this is all BEFORE switching.
    Not impressed 
    Considering ditching the switch....
