Emailed a month ago , they said they would sort it. just emailed them again.
Still a bit vague. I will await my next statement with interest. I have actually forgotten what the original referral amount was.
I am already in credit as NR are very cheap compared with previous suppliers (fixed year deal since April) and I am a relatively low user but I have a nagging feeling things could end very quickly with several smaller energy suppliers going out of business recently.

"Easily" scrambled?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Just to clarify, when I joined Neon Reef in Feb. there was no mention of "6 up,6 down" in DD payments. As far as I was concerned ,they had my accurate previous year's consumption and they set the required DD.1

Are Neon Reef circling the drain as well?I'm due a refund which was promised 3 weeks ago which hasn't been paid yet. Previously the final bill was issued 2 months after I left them.0

How long did they state you need to wait for your refund? Ofgem state it should be within 10 days of your final bill otherwise you will be due £30 compensation. Your final bill also should have been within 6 weeks of your switch date, otherwise you are eligible for £30 compensation.
I would suggest getting a written complaint and stating to them these time frames, the fact they've lapsed and that you are owed £x + £60 in compensation. Make sure you label it as complaint. This then allows you to go to the ombudsman in 8 weeks if it is still not settled.
Good luck0 -
Thanks Nik, they said the refund would be paid in 10 working days which they've now exceeded.

I switched yesterday and after checking the directors of Utility Point and Neon Reef decided that they were pretty much the same crowd. I'm afraid I bottled out of using them even though they were cheapest by a sizeable margin. Went with Sainsbury's in the end. I checked prices late last week but was away in Ireland from Friday and I reckon that delay cost me about £100-£150.
I spent quite a lot of time on it yesterday and by the time I had finished deals that were available in the morning had disappeared. This is very worrying times in the generation market and a big anticyclone this winter could lead to problems.

Time for that written complaint Jeff. I'd still also try and chase them to do it before you need to go down the ombudsman route if possible.0

Nik, will do both. As far as the ombudsman process is concerned, 8 weeks is an eternity in the world of utility supply companies.@ Flight: I've done a similar spreadsheet for my calcs, but it occurred to me yesterday that in the months and years to come, billing will be a whole lot more complicated to work out with the introduction of time-of-day tariffs.I remember the old days when the first x units per month were charged at one rate, any in excess were charged at another. How on earth are the comparison sites going to cope with the new style tariffs?0
