Neon Reef - any views?

@Telegraph_Sam Unfortunately it seems that you may have missed the boat. The good ship Neon Reef has sailed and their competitive Marine v2 tariff had to walk the plank last Wednesday.
Marine v3 is quite expensive, 14.580p per kWh plus 33.14p per day in my region, so make sure you do your sums before switching.0 -
Pity about the plank. I'd still get away with 24.54 per day which merits consideration. Except that this is a variable not fixed tariff where different yardsticks apply. Back to the drawing board?Telegraph Sam

Neon reefs set up is rather basic compared to octopus. You’ll agree the direct debit at the beginning, meter readings are easy to submit on their online portal or via email, they have never questioned any reading in my experience and it’s a simplistic process. No real consumption forecasts available as such. You submit your readings and are billed for usage. Any problems you speak to them on online chat or email. it’s an easy no nonsense affair.1 -
Perversely perhaps I actually see the price increase as a good thing, as given current wholesale rates the old tariff was simply unsustainable, so they either had to sail over the waterfall of the SoLR process and vanish into the mists of time like so many others, or bring their prices at least within reach of plausibility, so good to see they are trying to stay around by updating the tariff...Gerry1 said:Marine v3 is quite expensive, 14.580p per kWh plus 33.14p per day in my region, so make sure you do your sums before switching.

BN postcode would be probably as close as a random guess could get
most NR SC regions for current tariff offered to new customers appear to be just under 25p with po33 - 20.855p per day

Irony is Octopus Electricity kwh rate is much lower in North East than North West, most other suppliers I have looked at including NR are the other way around so savings you see in comparison with Octopus not as great at what others will see.
