I have a variant that says:
"We need to talk to you
    Please call us on 0333 202 9802 [1]

Don't worry, your switch is still in progress but there may be a delay. You don't need to call if you've already spoken to us about this."

order date 22/11, estimated supply 2/12

Took the plunge and called at 8.10am (offices supposedly open 8am to 8pm), go through all the many menu levels only to be told that our offices are not open at the moment.

So I logged on and went on chat.  Was told by the chatbot that as I was logged on they didn't need anymore security details and after about 5 mins got to chat to an agent.  Said about the "call us" message and was told that it was so they could set up an online password. I pointed out that I had already set an online password and was logged on hence why I could see the "call us" message!!  OK said the agent but it takes 21-28 days to set up account so you wont see any details.  So again I told him I could already see name address etc and the switch info...🙄.   Apologies from agent that I had wasted my time contacting them as there was nothing needed.  Got to love BG .

So basically ignore that message (as someone else said earlier in this thread) and don't bother calling.

I did take the opportunity whilst on chat to ask again switching to Zero Fixed October 22 and again was told again to contact them when account was fully set up and they could switch me to that tariff backdated to supply date.  Nothing to lose trying that now I guess but I'm not holding my breath.

I thought that I would be "good" so tried to call BG today. After working through several answer/responses on the automated cs line reached a message along the lines of "due to high demand on our boiler repair/service line we have had to shut this enquiries line" ... 🙄
You honestly could not make this up & be believed. :p

I've just received my contract from BG and it it using the cash or cheque tariff rather than the DD tariff. Does anybody know if that changes once they set up the DD? I tried searching the forum for an answer but cannot find it.
The supply date I have is 2nd December, am I right in assuming I can't start any transfer away until then?

All good news so far. Neon Reef said my opening meter read from when I joined them in October and has been validated and has been accepted as supplied by me. Symbio said they now have the information to produce a final bill and should be with me shortly.

Also my Welcome pack has arrived and the estimate for the next 12 months is about right. The price per kw is fixed until July  2022. I will be on supply on the 3 December.

Does it not include in the fine print "Prices may increase or decrease at any time. We will give you 30 days advance notice before we increase your prices."? Mine does.

interestingly my "invoices" page on my neon reef account is showing the direct debit due today as having been credited despite me cancelling the DD a couple of days ago & no charge having been made to my current account

I guess this will be reversed - just hope they do not apply a charge for doing that

Before they went bust they would usually take at least a week to add the DD taken from my bank

    Tariff ends on
    31st July 2022
    Price guaranteed until
    31st July 2022

It states clearly it is guaranteed so I cannot see them changing the price.

I had a dd due to go out on the 19 November and was already credited to my account that day even though the dd had been stopped. A few days later it was returned as unpaid and the credited amount debited.

  • @maisie_cat My understanding was that atm the quarterly and dd tariff rates were the same. If you left your dd with Neon open, BG would migrate it across. If you had cancelled your Neon dd, you would have to set up a new one with BG at some point, and they would notify you when you could do that.

Still all a bit up in the air tbh, but seems better than the Green/Shell process that I am also involved with.

I owe green about 88p  so have a minute interest in whats going on there, but yes there seems to be a lotmore progress with the BG transfer than Shell, who have a 8 week time advantage in transferring over.
