Yep, it's Neon Reef
It is with regret that we must announce that Neon Reef is ceasing to trade.
Customers need not worry, their supplies are secure and domestic credit balances are protected.
Ofgem’s advice is not to switch, but to wait until they appoint a new supplier for you and also to take a meter reading ready for when your new supplier contacts you. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to a new supplier, and honouring domestic customers’ credit balances, is as hassle free as possible for customers. Support and advice is available on the Ofgem website for both domestic customers and non-domestic customers. Alternatively, if customers need additional support, they can call Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or email them via their webform. Advice will also be shared on Ofgem’s twitter @ofgem and facebook channels.
Customers will still be able to access the online portal via our website to view bills, provide meter reads and see usage.
Click here for a list of Frequently Asked Questions, or for free impartial advice you can contact the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) on 0808 223 1133.
For emergencies only: Should you find yourself with no electricity, please email emergencies@neonreef.co.uk. Please note this email is only for customers with no electricity.

Sad to see the company cease to trade but it was expected and the alarm bells were ringing and everyone called me mad on another thread , when I chose to move from neon reef to octopus energy on an electric tariff fixed at 18.6p per kwh till november 2023.. move completes next Tuesday.

(But more seriously, commiserations to customers now enduring the inevitable, and to Neon Reef's employee).1 -
From the Ofgem announcement:Neon Reef limited supplies around 30,000 domestic electricity customersIt sometimes seems like most of those must be MSE'ers. At least they can't claim that no-one warned them andthis is all a huge surprise ...benwarwick123 said:Sad to see the company cease to trade but it was expected and the alarm bells were ringing and everyone called me mad on another thread , when I chose to move from neon reef to octopus energy on an electric tariff fixed at 18.6p per kwh till november 2023.. move completes next Tuesday.N. Sad to see them go.They did what it said on the tin, providing me with cheap electricity for sixteen months, and kept the original price long after the variable Aqua One tariff had been withdrawn for new customers. The lack of a call centre wasn't a problem, they replied very promptly at least until the start of the energy crisis. It was fun while it lasted !0

Lovely piece of timing from Ofgem.
Neon Reef had an employee?Takes immediate reading.0 -
So when does the new SOLR tariff kick in? Is it from today or from the date that the SOLR gets appointed?
There is also the fun and games that 3 of the big companies (EON, EDF and BG) have closed their capped variable tariffs to new customers (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer-affairs/biggest-energy-firms-accused-denying-cheapest-deals-new-customers/). How will this play out if we are transferred to one of these 3 companies?0 -

I thought the'd argue as I had an exit fee of £36 but they was happy to see my go and now of course I don't have to pay an exit fee. Also dont forget to cancel your Neon reef direct debits ( just the put money aside) as I know a few people who have been billed by EDF and Utility point this last month.0
