Very impressed with this company. Sorry doom and gloom mongers but I am only being truthful. Just received an email from them requested a meter read. Although I joined on the 11 October they will not be taking my payment now until the 11 Dec ember. So at the moment it is a win win situation for me because so far no payments have been made.
However the reason for the delay in payments was because I panicked reading through a lot of negative posts and requested the switch be cancelled. Because Symbio was now insolvent they could not put me back to them hence reason I remain with NR.
So if it were not for the doom mongers I would have already paid monies on account. A big thank to the doom mongers for making this situation possible.3 -
As long as you're doing the calculations and stashing what will be due to them away, then all good for you - this is exactly the sort of situation which can lead to people getting into problems though if they don't think/know to do that.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'm pretty sure they're much faster at taking payments if you don't muck it up by cancelling the switch during the process.Lots of people have been saying they switch really quickly, much faster than most suppliers.I don't blame people for taking them up on the offer at all, I'd be there too if I wasn't already in the SoLR process. I decided I preferred keeping things simple over saving a couple of quid for loads of extra admin if/when the inevitable happens. One SoLR process at a time is enough for me.1

But that you recalled that payment under the DD guarantee 2 days later?
The DD guarantee states that:
"If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to"
Whether or not Neon Reef do ask you to pay it back, I don't know.
But I think I read that Neon Reef apply aditional charges for DD payments not honoured (unless you make alternative payment by the end of the same day)
I wonder if they will waive that charge for you too?

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, as Symbio ceased trading, we are unable to return your electricity supply.
If you do not wish to be supplied by Neon Reef, please contact the newly appointed supplier who took over Symbio customers to ask them to initiate an erroneous transfer.
Please Note: Your tariff with your previous supplier may not be honoured by the newly appointed supplier.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Warmest Regards

And they didn't get named in the latest Ofgem wrist slapping news release...
Ofgem orders five suppliers to pay £575,000 for Feed-in Tariff scheme
Ofgem is issuing five suppliers with provisional orders, compelling them to pay £575,000 in total for the Feed-in Tariff scheme.
The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme, which is administered by Ofgem, provides payments to owners of small-scale renewable energy generators, and is funded through compulsory levies on suppliers.
In total, five suppliers will receive provisional orders for failure to make payment by the second quarter payment deadline of 10 November 2021. Failure to pay may cause mutualisation to be triggered.
Any supplier that failed to meet the deadline is in breach of the Electricity Supply Standard Licence Condition (“SLC”) 33.
The five suppliers must now make the payments owed immediately.
If the suppliers fail to comply with the order, Ofgem may take further enforcement action and they could end up having their licences revoked or face a financial penalty.
The suppliers and amounts owed are:

Whoop Energy
£19,013
Simply Your Energy/ Entice
£28,353
Social Energy Supply

Really not looking good for Orbit, Whoop and Entice...1
