So I'm still not clear, can the standing charge be raised without limit outside of the enforced cap, or is it subject to, and inclusive to the overall cap?0

Here's the Ofgem formula. The maximum standing charge for gas on Direct Debit works out at 24.88p/day.Other Payment Method means Direct Debit.2

Ok, so "nil" KWh = max standing chargeGerry1 said:Patr100 said:So I'm still not clear, can the standing charge be raised without limit outside of the enforced cap, or is it subject to, and inclusive to the overall cap?No, the standing charge can't be raised sky high. if for example, I read it right, we divide the max monetary amount by the "m" kwh figure we get the max charge for a kwh?
eg: London electricity: £694/ 3100 = 22p
plus max annual standing charge of £810 -

plus max annual standing charge of £81The total monetary amount has to include any standing charge, so in your example the 22p would only be reached with zero standing charge. Also remember those numbers do not include VAT @ 5%0 -
I would certainly be twitchy in your situation.AbbieCadabra said:
Yes, mine has finally appeared yesterday, from estimated reading 29 September (I had entered actual on 28th as requested, not sure why they didn't use).OldScientist said:For those worried upthread about a lack of a bill, they do appear to be issuing bills - just had my first one (been a customer since the beginning of October).
We're all electric so our use is very high over winter, but our heating isn’t on yet so already £250 in credit now & getting a bit 'twitchy' over our DD set at £200 a month if they are likely to fail.
Still owed £300 from Green that will take months to receive. I'm taking weekly reads going forward so I know where I am.
I've screenshot the bill via the app, which isn't ideal. Do they email a pdf copy or can you download from the website?
If I understand you correctly, you pay £200pm, are all electric, but have not yet turned your heating on.
Neon Reef charge in advance, in common with many challenger energy suppliers.
So you have paid 2 months direct debits (£400) and only been billed 1 month usage.
If you are £250 in credit, then that means you have used £150 electricity in your first month, a month that does not include any electrical heating.
Also Nean Reef charge on a 6up/6down basis for their competitive fixed tariffs, so if you are paying £200pm, that means your calculation is based upon using an average of £150.37 usage per month.
Yet you have apparently used £150 worth without any heating.
Sounds like you are not paying anywhere near enough.

Thanks, I can view the bill ok on the app, but no option to download? The bill wasn't even showing on my online account yesterday, hopefully it will be there soon so I can download.Deleted_User said:@AbbieCadabra Yes, you can view and download the bill by going into ‘Billing’ in the NR app and ‘View’ ing.0 -
2 payments of £200 each & 1 bill = £290 credit at moment.dbks said:

Can be as high as £300 if really cold, but summer use is only £70. We use around 10,000 kw/£1800 p/yr if winter isn't too bad, so £200 dd should be ok.0 -
@AbbieCadabra OK, it probably depends on your device, software and configuration etc. Now I check again, I probably cannot download the file to my phone, which is android not Apple/iOS. Or my iPad. It probably is possible, but beyond my capability.
However, I can definitely download it from the web. Is that not an option for you?
Sorry about the confusion.1 -
No problem 😊 I'm hoping it's just a delay on my account, seems odd for the bill to be showing on the app but not my account. I've just always presumed apps showed a reduced version of your full account, but obviously this isn't how NR work, or I've completely misunderstood apps (which wouldn't be a huge surprise! 😄).Deleted_User said:@AbbieCadabra OK, it probably depends on your device, software and configuration etc. Now I check again, I probably cannot download the file to my phone, which is android not Apple/iOS.
