Afternoon!Well the drama over here at Foxholes Towers! Stupid blackbird twitting her head off from 4am, I should have known something was wrong, anyway, left the house at 8.40 for volunteering, to see a baby blackbird in the mouth of a savage whiskered warrior, screaming its feathered head off, and mama blackbird dive bombing the furry menace, so I shouted at it and it dropped the bird, who had a very wonky leg, and it fluttered off under a car, I tried to get it out, but no luck, so told dh & the kids where it was with the instruction to get it back in its nest. When I got home 5 hours later dh said it was on the ground in next door's front garden, under a crisp packet, and he could not rescue it with his torn shoulder, but mama bird had been feeding it and the kids were defending it from any befurred invaders. So I put my shoes back on, and a pair of gloves, and I managed to wriggle in and grab the idiot, while being screamed at by an irate mother with a beak full of caterpillar and manhandled junior back into the nest, that it immediately hopped out of and ended up wedged upside down, caught between 2 branches, and dh scooped it up and put it back in its nest where it stayed this time, and after about 20 minutes both parents were in there with blackberries and worms and allsorts (not licorice) to feed it. Without so much as a chirpy Thank-you! It is pretty much ready to leave the nest anyway, the bird-brained fool. So it can do with a couple more days at home in the nest and then fledge off.So I win the humanitarian award of the day (Leicester Branch) for my efforts on behalf of birdkind.Grateful for: bird not being cat-fodder. for us all being well, for making it through another day on Planet Earth, for dh cooking supper tonight.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for bird-saving turtles in the shires, for the chemist finally getting dh's prescription right, for a nice chat with my GP, for Olympic rewinds giving us 3 weeks of events in a couple of hours, for flowerlets on my tommie and pepper plants.

Well done f0xh0les. I have wrestled the bed into submission (flipped it onto it's side after emptying each drawer in turn and moving contents and drawers onto mum's bed). Wrangled the fridge freezer through and into it's allotted space - a little bit of help from mum as when I tried to tilt it slightly to get it onto the carpet, it kept skidding towards the bathroom - put mum in there and told her to give it a little push towards me when I tilted it (apparently the doorway joining strip was already loose - I've stood on it for now but need to smack it gently with a hammer in the morning).
So I have a bed made up and my CPAP machine, reading book and handbag (tomorrow morning's pills) to hand. Lots of tidying in the morning as I basically gathered up any lose items and put them in a box.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Evening everyone
I had 2 days off work at the beginning of the week and it was great! I got my hair cut on Monday, last appointment was 5 months ago when it was snowing! Was great to see my hairdresser (been going to her for over 30 years) and all felt safe and hygienic. Prices had gone up but they hadn't had any increases for 5 years so can't really complain. Sorted car insurance and have gone with an insurer who charged £120 lower than my existing company. On Tuesday i had a lovely day out with both DDs. We did our bit for the economy by going in actual shops, masked up, & i got a couple of presents, one for a friend and one for my niece - both presents were in the sale.
Gratitudes - time with daughters, sale bargains, great pilates session via Fb

Payday today. Well one of them. One pension is paid every four weeks and one on the last day of the month. Bit confusing but that's the budget sorted for the next four weeks. Transferred the food budget to it's separate account. I much prefer using cash for food but so many places want contactless payment at the moment this is the only way I can keep track.
I've been a lot more productive today. Washing and ironing all done, more seeds planted, dinner made, chicken taken out for tomorrow to make a casserole, some decluttering (with Himself knowing about it), cleaning and tidying. I've even moved some of the many books to more appropriate place. Found some doublers so I have put them aside to ask if the cousin would like them when I eventually get to see her.
Still raining so no walk again!!

Today I am grateful for getting out and about, for giving dd's old bike away (and getting a book in exchange!), for being able to book a swim with dd for tomorrow, for getting plenty of laundry done, for a relaxing day.

Hi everyone
Had a busy day at work yesterday followed by literature group via Zoom. Then had quick walk before it started raining. I have my self employment work to do today at home so trying to focus on that; once this task is done i won't have anything further to do for about a month (for my self employment)I am home alone today as both DDs out/away. I need to do a SM shop and hoping i'll have time for a bike ride. Going to make veggie curry for tea and watch some TV.
Gratitudes - virtual catch ups; DDs are happy; my bike
Enjoy the weekend
