Still on NSD No 16
Iceland delivery. Only thing to go in the freezer is ice cream so hoping to make a big dent in the contents over the next week. It was so wet but we walked to the local butcher for steak pie for dinner for three of us tomorrow and free range eggs because Iceland don't always have them. Also went to the local shop and got milk and rolls because they have a longer use by date than the supermarkets.
Spoke to my nephew last night. He is in charge of a lab in a hospital and his wife works in a similar position in another. He sounded shattered. What all these NHS staff (and others) are going through is just unimaginable. He's off on holiday for the next week. No foreign trips for them this year. A wee self catering cottage in the north of Scotland for some peace and quiet and they are so looking forward to it. After speaking to him I am just counting my many blessings. I also emailed my brother in Canada. He worked in virology all is working life. Between them I'm terrified to leave the house. Well, not really but I am very, very cautious.
So tonight I have Spanish chicken in the slow cooker and after that I'm off to bed to read the extremely good book that I have. And the really good thing is that we have another two by the same author that I haven't read yet. Have a good night. Turtles.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Today I am grateful for the motivation (inspired mostly by CCL) to clear some more space, to sort loads more stuff, to recycle a lot more, and to reduce the whole pile by 3/4s. I also found another box of things I had ready to go to the recycling centre but somehow it got lost. Oh well, it is in the hall in a big old pile, and is going to leave the house this time.I am going to finish another book tonight, and that will be sub 24 left I think. So it is good that the c/s are supposed to be reopening here soon. I am trying to read as much as I can now, in preparation for a whole new reading spree on the other side. - does anyone have experience where to sell second hands books on?Gratitudes: a full fruitbowl, using up a really disappointing ingredient into a totally fabulous meal. For payday next week. I have just about got my head around this shopping once a week lark now.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@f0xh0les have a look at ziffit for selling books. Not huge amounts but easy to do. Once you start you’re likely to get offers for extra 10% etc.. too.

I got so fed up with only being offered pennies by the sites, that I vowed to give all my books to 0xfam! Maybe I just had low value stuff...Today I am grateful for a wonderful swim with dd, for getting the last parking space in liddle (only a very small car park, so I was really lucky), for seeing some old friends and dd swapping numbers with their daughter, for clean bed linen, for hm chips, for a growing pile to take to the ch shops and the tip.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Oh I have really missed out on reading this thread will try and catch up tonight. Have started a 12 week creative reboot project as still have 2 weeks of holiday and so much anxiety about creativity stuff, I am just saying as some of my time will now go to that.
But tomorrow I will try to actually work through the July challenge funny enough it is linked to some of the other stuff I'll be doing and today have already been quite productive - and I only started week 1 yesterday.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Today I am grateful for getting 3 loads of washing done (tho' most of it ended up having to dry around the house!), for a good sort out of my clothes resulting in more to leave the house, for dh getting the downstairs loo fully functioning again, for dd teaching a friend how to ride a bike, for my first successful sweet pea flowers in y e a r s!

Evening all, keep forgetting to post properly but not much going on. Am up to 18 NSD's, had some money left over so bought some wax for my car and also bought a gel pad to make horse riding more comfortable (hopefully) with my dodgy hip. Also paid an extra £20 off my car debt.
Sold a book on eBay yesterday, I find they're good for old textbooks but other stuff I just take to the c/s as it doesn't always go. I tend to buy books secondhand off there too.
Got paid on Friday but prefer to budget month to month so put in a different account until the 1st, have planned all budgets for next month.

Evening everyone
It's been a few days but I have been a very busy bunny. I appear to have been attacked by some sort of home improvement bug, which is making me decorate and declutter my house right through, and go shopping at the Swedish Emporium and the Grange, and buy tools from Scr3wf1x and batter my shed into pieces with a lump hammer, and completely fill a skip in less than 24 hours. I have no idea why this has suddenly happened after 16 years of living here in all of its muck and never doing anything about the house. It's since I got my new bathroom. The rest of the house looked awful after that so I decorated my living room, then the kids rooms, and now I'm on with my room, and we've bought some new carpets and beds and stuff. It's not been cheap but 16 years of neglect isn't cheap to sort out. I'm sure it'll be lovely if I ever get it finished...
I will not bore you with more detail of it because some of you read my diary and it would take me for ever. But today I have done the second coat of paint on 2 walls in my room, and the first coat on the third wall. Then put two blinds up. I have until Tuesday to complete the decorating and finish decluttering in there before my next tip run and new carpet fitting. After that there's a small bookcase to build and my new bed. Then the stairs are next on the decorating list...
As a result there is very little else to report - my whole days are taken up with me tidying, cleaning, building, destroying and decorating. I am learning lots of new skills.
Apple - I am up for running August if you want? I have no idea what I'll do but I'll have a think and see what I can come up with. However, I am an introvert so also more than happy to completely back off and let someone else take charge if they would rather.
Not giving up

Time to take back control

Yesterday was NSD No 17 and it's still raining.
The Boy came for dinner (steak pie) and we had a lovely chat about all sorts of things. I was hoping to get back to walking today but not in this rain (again!) so it'll have to be a lot of housework and running up and downstairs to burn up the calories. Determined to get fit and look presentable for my holiday in October.
CCL - I have been reading your diary. Wow, That's a lot of work but it'll be well worth it. Feeling comfortable, safe and happy in your own space is priceless. It lifts your mood and makes you happy.
Right. Boy's washing and ironing to start with.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
