Still allowed to go out for exercise - not supposed to stop anywhere - but the parks are actually really busy, full of kids, footballs, and family picnics. Kids do not socially distance. It is a fact. Kids chasing a football even less so. DS3 is being invited all over the place to meet up with friends - he declines. They just want to go on holiday now that term has ended. and I already have an over-inflated guilt gland over that.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Up before 7.00 am had breakfast and off for another walk. Five miles today and my legs are aching.
Goulash in slow cooker for dinner. It looks good but I've made far too much so that'll be another dinner.
Hang on in there, F0xh0les. I have been having the strangest dreams as well. I think it's the consequence of being in a very strange situation. Don't feel guilty. This is all beyond your control. The blonde bombshells' mother was saying exactly the same thing about holidays to me just an hour ago. They had planned as a family to go to Turkey where they had a great holiday last year but obviously not possible now. She's managed to book a weekend not too far away from here in August just before our schools go back. She said everywhere was already booked and it was so expensive. So although a staycation is the sensible option it's not that affordable. The one she's booked is quite luxurious - hot tub and all that but her three grown up children are helping to pay for it and she really deserves it . She's worked as a carer throughout this and the older ones have helped looking after their two little sisters. I am full of admiration for all the people who have just pulled together in this.
It's very hard for children just now. Especially those who are at that age where they just want to hang out with their friends, play football, rugby, etc. As a very wise man said "this to will pass" and I try to remember that when I'm feeling a bit "you know".
So that's my ramblings for today. Take care, everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Evening all
I hope everyone is feeling a bit better, sending hugs to all who may need them.
Yesterday wasn't a NSD, bought a few necessities in the shops and topped up on stuff for the rabbits. I also popped to my local aquatics centre and bought a few fish, I also got a new aquarium - was saving to get one next month but this one was on sale, cheaper and bigger than my current one so made sense to buy it now.
Up very early today to horse ride then went to help out with the horses at RDA so been outdoors most of the day. Simple pizza for dinner and already in my PJs! Chalked up a NSD though to make up for my sins yesterday!3 -
Today I am grateful for how good exercise makes me feel, for not having to be out in the drizzle, for still having doors and windows open despite a big drop in the temperature, for dh finding an Asterix film to watch, for good coffee.

Today I am grateful for still having 64 sausages in the freezer. You will never starve with a sausage in the house. You might get heartily bored of 'sausage surprise!' for every meal, but you will not starve. For avoiding erm, everything? The washing dried on the line, after the pounding rain last night (it woke me up and kept me awake). For hot water, and bath bubbles and love.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Weekend thankfulness : for the rain not arriving until after I was in bed, for falling asleep by 10.15 last night and missing the 10.45 fireworks which everyone was moaning about on local social media today, for glorious sunshine today, for a full water butt, for a pretty canalpath walk (went the other direction to normal) , for seeing Mr & Mrs Swan and their (still - yippee!) 7 babies - although their babies are almost adult sized now!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £205

Quick catch up from me.Friday - ended up food shopping as I was getting big bag of dog food for elderly friends, cute guy ran up and put it in my trolley and when I was putting it in my car, stopped his car alongside and offered to help. Phew so much excitement!Saturday - nice treat at a foot clinic and after months of sandals my feet needed it.Sunday - went to our local zoo, really missed going during lockdown, as its only around the corner from me. Grandkids loved it as bear was showing off in his pool with a ball and a log and the condor flew straight at us, lucky the glass was toughened. What a wingspan and just to be extra sure he did it again. Still jumped and squealed as much as the first time. Lovely to see families back there. Bit sad to see my 3yr old gd who desperately wanted a friend to play with, smiling and waving at other kids. No spending as we are members.Monday - Yes no spending and still obese, hangs head in shame .Grateful forLovely day out yesterday and sunshine. Well, the walks have certainly taken their toll. Could hardly walk downstairs this morning so I'm having a "rest day". Himself (who used to run) tells me this happens when you start trying to walk/run after a while of inactivity. Feeling a bit guilty but determined to get out again tomorrow. Been pottering about all day. Planted up some pots of herbs for myself and the next door neighbour. It's all looking very green and it's cost next to nothing. And I have pea pods. I have a list of neighbours waiting for them to mature.
Goulash last night was really good even if I do say so myself. Lots left so it's in the fridge for tomorrow to have with baked potatoes. Got a kind of meal plan for the rest of the week to use up bits and bobs.
Himself actually got off his bottom today and started tidying books and things. Even he's surprised at the amount we have. Small steps.
Oh, F0xh0les, you remind me of me. 64 sausages!!! It's right up there with our supply of butteries (all gone now, thank goodness) Although I think we're down to a mere 24 sausages now. You're right you'll never starve and they are very versatile (well, they have to be if you've got 64).
Have to say, I think my mood is lifting a bit. I certainly hope so.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Evening all,
Ruined a NSD by buying a couple of bottles of beer just now, but I'm not beating myself up over it! Had some flights amended to a time which has ruined an upcoming trip and now means I can't go (was going to be on an organised 4 day tour but would have to leave after 2.5 days so am now having to cancel). Very annoyed at rhe hassle and lack of things to look forward to but also relieved at not having to get on a plane in the current climate, I was worried about that side of things.
I'm grateful for sunshine, for going on a nice walk, for a tidy house, for a fab night's sleep last night.
Foxholes how does one amass 64 sausagesI'm veggie and have never found a decent veggie sausage but even in my meat eating days I think I'd have struggled to get through so many sausages!

Two days digging in the hot sun (watched Cranford yesterday but went out in the advert breaks) but I finally have a flat (ish) patch to plant out the rest of the cabbages, red onions and as many carrots as possible and done a chunk of the groundwork towards putting in raised beds in the autumn onwards.
Food delivery didn't come - not sure what went wrong but will have to get creative with meals for the rest of the week (veg and tin based).
Today I am grateful for hot showers, my bed, ibuprofen and suncream. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage3
