NST July 2020: The Turtles go Jousting

Morning all
Haven't checked in for a couple of days but no major spends. Did buy some henna online as I use that to dye my hair rather than conventional stuff and my old one ran out. Also bought a couple of essential oil bottles to try and make my own scented diffusers. Watch this space. Spent last night tidying the dreaded DIY cupboard, bought some of those little plastic boxes with dividers in so that I could safely store all the screws, nails, picture hooks etc as they've just been all over the place for ages. I can't tell you how satisfying I found that little job!
Also paid £200 off my car debt yesterday.
I'm grateful for sleeping much better in the past week, with my back pain I havent slept well for a LONG time and I am hopeful that I'm finally sorting it out. Managed to sleep until almost 9 this morning which has previously been unheard of! Grateful for the lovely sunshine, local pub beer garden that we sat in last night for a quick pint, and my new yoga ball.4 -
Wow, deni, can't believe it's already been 6 months since you started your new job! That has flown by!

Been to the butchers and got square sausage for the Boy and a dozen gorgeous extra large free range eggs. Expensive compared to the supermarket but worth every penny.
I misread the time and we were up before six. Himself as a bit reluctant to go for a walk but he relented and we did. Four miles. Afterwards he said he was glad we did even though our legs are aching a bit. Plan is to do something similar tomorrow. I forget to get celery on the online shop yesterday so we bought some from a corner shop which we discovered and sells lots of things. The shop keeper was lovely. Very chatty and the celery is so fresh. Also bought a couple of huge baked potatoes with a view to having them with a chilli made from bits and pieces from the freezer. Will certainly use him again. On our walk last week we found a fishmonger as well. A bit of a walk but I love fish and I think it will be better than the supermarket. Shopping habits definitely changing
Straightened my hair yesterday for the first time in ages. It is so long. Actually, I quite like the length but the roots!!!! Hoping the cousin had a good experience at the hairdresser today so I can be tempted to go back.
So another early night and early morning and off we go again. Have a good weekend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Today I am grateful for getting a big wodge of exercise done, for listening to some podcasts in the sun, for chillin' out a lot, for hearing from PinotGrigio (Mrs PG - anyone remember her?), for dd sleeping well after a couple of rough nights.

Sorry I disappeared this month - low mood plus work being incredibly stressful means I just haven't felt much like posting. Have totally lost track of NSDs and was stressing that my bank balance looked very low compared to this point in a usual month, however, I've sat down this morning and gone through my receipts, ynab and my bank account and it's not quite as bad as I thought.
I'll get back on track with healthy eating and exercise today or at least I will once I've finished my cooked breakfastHad a girls night last night round at my friend's flat so bacon and eggs are definitely needed to counteract the slight hangover I have today. Feel so much better after seeing my friends and having a good moan about things
Plan for today is to go through the fridge, cupboard and freezer to see what's actually there and make a meal plan then get the flat cleaned. I also need to walk up to my friends (about 35 minute walk) to get my car back. My SIL had twins last week so I might brave the shops to get a present for her and my brother. I've not been into any shops other than the supermarket since the start of lockdown and I'm actually a little nervous about going into town.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Just been reading a website called www.themonklife.net › forming-habitsIt's an interesting read - but I can't copy and paste any of it for some reason... I copied this part from the goggle search:Set the bar low - make it stupidly do-able. Then just get on and do it! Daily.''The mini habits method.
- Do 1 push-up.
- Do 3 jumping jacks.
- Read 2 pages in a book.
- Floss 1 tooth.
- Write 50 words.
- Walk/jog to the end of your driveway.
- Drink 1 glass of water.
- Eat 1 piece of fruit.''

HI everyone
thanks apple been a bizarre first 6 months in the role. also thanks for those mini habit tips - will look that up.
Wow congrats to misstara brother and SiL !
I visited another county yesterday, had a distanced walk and picnic in the rain with my friend and it was so lovely to meet people in RL and visit somewhere different. Definitely lifted my spirits but i was really tired when i got home! Did my usual Sat eve trip to the SM and wore a mask for the first time in preparation for when we have to. Will wear it from now on anyway.
I've signed up for my Fb exercise classes this week as i need to get into better exercise habits.
Going to crack on and tackle some of the work from my 2 x PT jobs so i can relax tomorrow (day off)
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Auntie misstara! The best present you could give them would be to offer to pick up their shopping for them!Glad you are out of lockdown so you can at least visit and have friends over.I am a miserable baggage today. I am sick to death of stress-dreams and nightmares. All night long I miss planes and trains, lose children, open the door to unexpected visitors who have come to stay and I only have an onion and an aubergine to feed them, and then, if i am lucky, I go back to sleep and have nightmares. It has been this way for over week and I am tired and grumpy so I am reading along but trying not to contaminate the jousters with my misery. I am annoying myself with it!And the stupid lockdown- extension has not helped. Another 5 days until they decide if we are still plague central.Only doing 'essential' things really sucks.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
