NST July 2020: The Turtles go Jousting

Sorry to hear you're a bit down ditty. Just ride it through - you'll come out of the other side...
You too mothernerd. You'll be missing home no doubt - things have changed so much.
I've had tears today as well... just because I took ds into school for his leaver's assembly. I think it was a combination of feeling sorry for myself that my youngest baby is leaving primary school, and feeling bad that he hasn't had the chance to enjoy his last months at primary with all the end-of-school stuff that kids do when they're leaving primary school. He coped with it better than I did - I was driving home with tears running down my face and he was eating his chocolate gift from his teacher. I think I've felt more sad today than I have at all during lockdown, but just a sadness for what should have been for ds and he didn't get. I'm sure it won't matter in 6 months time though.
Also probably tearful as I'm quite tired juggling work, assembly driving, schooling and decorating. Just about finished dd's room now and ds wants in on the actionJust thinking I might as well decorate the whole house now... I feel as though I never stop but at least I'm getting lots done.

Aw, hugs to you both and everybody else who is feeling a bit down. Himself is reading a book just now about the occupation of Paris during WW2 and he was saying that people who lived through say that felt a similar feeling of claustrophobia and agoraphobia because of the changes and limitations to their normal way of life. I'm not for one moment suggesting that it's the same situation (obviously not - we're not living under tyranny ) but it's an interesting analogy.
Hope you all feel a bit more normal soon. xxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Today I am so grateful for the small 'green' in front of our house where the kids can go out and play together and dog owners can sit and chat and people can just meet other humans and all keep a suitable distance, for an easy blood test procedure, for getting out and walking to the dr instead of taking the bus, for yummy yoghurt cake, for space and time to think and ponder.

Hi thanks for well wishes, I'm pretty much good, just missing a bit of a sense of purpose, and in the background I have a sister who just doesn't communicate, and it's making me really upset. Around Easter I got so annoyed I took her off al of my social media, and we haven't really talked since. So very unresolved and I have a hard time to let it go. She sent me a nive message in June and I answered back, but I waxen't in on the evening she was available to talk, and since then she hasen't answered calls. SO just super frustrating, and I find it's quite selfish on her behalf. The last time she called before that was literally when her cat died!
Anyways sorry to rant. Today I am grateful for my youngest maybe getting offered a warehouse job. For having a day to study things I want to look into, and to organise some shelves in my study/bedroom, while trying to be able to reimagine my future commitments in terms of work, as I am not too happy about my current commitments. Like a lot of other people I want to make changes to my life in the coming year, but at the same time I feel tired and disconnected from the world of work and the world of people and focus. SO this is all part of my turtle challenge for this month, and were already half way through. Tile to take the dog out.
Have a lovely day all.

Hello everyone
I've lost track of NSDs but had one yesterday. Saw DD1's bestie on Mon eve as it was her birthday; DD1 made lovely chocolate cake. Had virtual team meeting yesterday and was lovely to see colleagues. Think we are all feeling a little flat though, lots of shrugs and sighs going on. I've been practising wearing my face mask.
Gratitudes - DD1's bestie had a lovely birthday; good meeting last night with my part time job; birthday cake!
hugs to those in need

Ditty think you're not the only one feeling like their lacking purpose. Family members and friends can be a nightmare at times. Rant on. We all need to vent at times.Today looked in freezer and it's full of green beans, ice cream and sausage rolls. So treated myself to a steak for tea and yellow stickered noodles, got veg in fridge to mix in.Horrible rainy day here today, hope tomorrow is different, day off with grandson no idea where to go yet.Grateful forDoing nothing last 2 nights, don't ache all over anymore. You can’t choose your family ditty as the old saying goes. That said DH and I have quite enjoyed some elements of lockdown in that we haven’t had to do some family commitments that we would normally. Every cloud and all that.Been awol from the thread this month like others just struggling to get going. Am staying on money saving ways though. Although totes jealous of ys bargains. Wonder if I’ll ever want to go to a SM again to get them 🧐
payday this week which is always nice.6 -
Rant away as much as you like, Ditty. We're hear to listen.
Maybe we should all practice swearing, Apple. In private, of course. We don't want to lower the tone but it might get rid of the frustration we're all feeling. Maybe not. You're all much too nice and well mannered.
So NSD No 9
I am so disappointed. I didn't manage a walk today. Huge blister on the soul of my foot would have made it impossible. Hopefully better tomorrow. But I haven't been idle for once. Tidied all my drawers and cupboards in our bedroom and disposed of all sorts of rubbish. I mean you can't really recycle nail files, can you, (I bet somebody here will tell me you can). Anyway, much more organised now. Got rid of some more rubbish (and I mean rubbish) from the room of doom.
Repotted some of my plants and started rooting more mint and peas. It's all looking nice and green and hasn't cost anything. Would be nice if I got a harvest of something but I'm not really that bothered. Also done all the washing and changed the bedding.
Highlight of the day. Someone has just told me how to wear my face mask without my glasses steaming up. You have no idea how good that us.
Take care, All. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Evening all,
I think this month seems to be the time where low mood and lack of motivation is hitting a lot of people, myself included. I think it's important not to put too much pressure on ourselves atm and just plod on, even though every day might be the same for the most part.
Today I had an odd day, had 4 home visits booked at work, two cancelled before I even got going, one was out and forgot to tell me, and one never answered the door! So I spent most of my day driving around with little to show for it, other than being able to pop into Tesco to buy some bread and veg. Normally a day like this would really frustrate me but I just found it quite funny today, there's nothing I can do about it.
We found out about redundancies at work, most jobs are safe but a few colleagues are at risk, some of whom I get on well with so it's a bit of a difficult situation trying to not be too happy that your own job is safe while knowing other people's aren't. I read today that medical professionals in France are all being given pay rises, not much chance of that here I think...
