NST July 2020: The Turtles go Jousting

Toni'sfriend - I find that consistency is the key. And small changes that I know I can do daily. So for me, that means I eat enough protein; keep exercising/go out for a walk/ pace up and down the lounge during the adverts; drink plenty of water. Plan the snacks!! I can do great meals, but scoff too much in between!Today I am grateful for getting out for a good walk in the woods, for keeping dd off tech for much of the day, for selling some stuff online, for doing some clearing up, for making a yummy basa dish for tea.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Evening all, have forgotten to check in recently but not much to report. Have taken a couple of days off and gone to see my parents, haven't seen them since early March I think so I'm grateful for some time away with family. Have got a few more NSD'S as well which is good, am on track which is important as I haven't been on track for the last few months!4

Well today has been a bit of a non starter, BUT my living room is beautifully decorated now in colours that I have chosen (apart from one tiny bit behind the telly and all the electric stuff) and I am enjoying sitting in it. Nice bathroom, nice living room. Next on the list dd's bedroom, and I'm now getting a bit fidgety wanting to do the stairs seeing it compared to the living room. It has taken days and I woke up this morning just absolutely shattered, so I decided not to finish the living room today and just rest. Spoke to my mam, dad and sister to catch up, watched a load of TV and spent a lot of time online looking at beds. Because I need a new bed. Not that I can afford one but I am looking nonetheless. I do need a new mattress though so need to start saving for that.
So after lunch I managed to drag myself out to Frozen Foods of the Farm for this weeks shopping - and got everything there for £17.52, so I'll take that. Other than that all I've managed to do is wash some dishes, wash some bedding, clean the bathroom, hoover upstairs and put two boxes of DVDs in the loft. If they are still there in 6 months untouched then I'll get rid.
Strangely enough I'm starting to feel more awake now that it's bed time.
Grateful for - time spent with the kids, my beautifully decorated living room and box sets on tv.

This decorating is dangerous addictive stuff CCL. So glad you are seeing the benefit. It might take a couple of days (usually a couple of days longer than the couple of days you thought it would) but it is not like it is even a yearly thing. I am loving it vicariously. So glad you are enjoying your home more now.

Aaah - that's great that you've mainly got the living room done, ccl!
Lovely - your home should be a sanctuary
(I shall ignore the fact that we have a mile long list of jobs that need doing here!)
Have been MIA for a few days - not done much - have been exercising (walking, zumba, rowing machine), eating very well and can see a difference in a week - just need to be consistent and see if I can keep it up for the whole of July! Couple of smkt trips this week (as usual - struggle to get everything for all of us in one trip) and have also spent on barbers visits, dentist (DS1), and a couple of wee things from Amazon (1 need, 1 want - but the want was a set of resistance bands, so a 'good' thing - if they get used!!)
Some decluttering in that a couple of things have sold, a couple of things have been added to CS pile, some items given away via fbook and a couple of things binned/ recycled. Yeay! Also have 2 big bags of no-longer-needed primary school uniform in my car to drop to school for the PTA to sell(DS1 is still at school until Friday, but he is wearing non uniform for his last week)

More digging yesterday, both shoulders having serious twinges (only doing what I can, but good weather is drying out the soil - spread what I could on the 'jigsaw' board - which means I can get a on a lot quicker). I think I've managed about a quarter of what 'needs' to be done. There is more I could do (if I can still move at all by then) but the 4 m (2 fence panels) by about 1.2 m area will give me a good flat patch to plant out any cabbages (/broccoli/ cauli/ sprouts) that are still making do with yoghurt pots or mushroom tubs, plus as many rows of carrots (diamond pattern would look good) and the remaining red onions (should have gone in weeks, if not months, ago - it's a bit last chance saloon for a lot of things, if I can find some soil to put them in, they have a chance.
Also have several lots of 'meat. from Wednesday's delivery that need to be made up into dishes - lasagne, tandoori chicken breasts (quick and barely any prep), bacon soup and some beef - curry for me, possibly. Decide what to do with the remaining older veg and how to allocate any 'spare' time to the remaining list of things to be done - prioritise, prioritise, prioritise and do pampering.
I am grateful for good weather for making progress (also grateful for the rain which has been collected in several buckets and containers), for two loads of washing dried outside, including odd items like the covers off the two armchairs, for good books and a good tv series (two actually - one I'm watching with mum and one I'm watching by myself, having finished watching 'outnumbered' and the new Sacha Baron Cohen film - outrageously 'gross out' but made me laugh out loud). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage2 -
Hi everyone, I've had a good couple of days. Very productive day at work yesterday; also rang HMRC and sorted tax code; went for a walk with DD1's bestie, lovely chat and wander down by the river. Did 3 x exercise classes via Fb last week so the walk finished me off! I had a bath then watched TV and was asleep before 11pm
Today i read my book in bed with a cuppa tea and a croissant; then wrote to my sis and a friend. Started clearing out the garage but didn't get very far when a friend rang me; had lovely catch up. Then decided better brave the garden centre and supermarket. Got DD1's bestie some birthday presents and did a food shop plus filled up with petrol. Also got rid of loads of out of date meds in Sainz pharmacy.
Gratitudes - DD1 for mowing the lawn; easy tea of pizza and garlic bread; bargain hanging basket and birthday gift in garden centre; phone call with friend

Did digging. Told myself I would only do 20 minutes then come in, have a shower and sew whilst watching Steel Magnolias but found that I rather enjoyed digging and came in after one hour - of course I felt every bit of work when I stood up and tried to get back in the house. Rested for a while and went out again. Just under an hour this time but definitely enough done for the day. Came in about 2 pm, showered - took a lot of effort just to get in the shower, slump on the stool and then wrapped the towel around me and climbed onto the bed all wet.
I have cooked bacon soup and made the 'meat' part of a lasagne (mince, onions, veg, red lentils and porridge oats) but not sure about it - think it might be burnt and have no energy at all left to do any other lasagne bits. Bacon soup is lush and have had several bowlfuls. Lots of me aches especially my sitting down muscles - doing a sliding slope on the bed but not anxious to go and sit in an armchair (may go for a while if mum wants to watch our serial - stay where I am if not).
Grateful for getting more than I thought possible done, for using up oddments of food (cabbage, red lentils, frozen veg, onions found in corners of the shed) and toiletries (hand and face creams of mine and mum's - have got several days worth from cutting open the containers and scraping bits out), pampering. Must go - have been summoned to watch serial.

NSD number 9 today.
Grateful for:
Having a good walk into town centre and back. Had to pick up a prescription. Met someone who I knew on way back home so had a nice chat.
Had a good chat with someone on the phone who I used to work with. Might be meeting up with her in the next few weeks.
Nice weather.

Impressive digging times, mothernerd. Well done you.I got as far as mowing the (small) front grass, cutting back a few triffids and picking fruit - and waspleased with myself for that! Grateful today for online exercise classes, for picking a fair amount of fruit, for posting off a parcel, for dd getting out on her bike, for a good soak in the bath.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4
