If it makes you feel any better about being chased, my SO reservation was made on the 4th March 2020
I immediately instructed searches and applied for mortgage a week later; lost that mortgage due to 'inactivity' whilst waiting for EWS1, which they finally sent on the 9th Dec...!
So if they dared to chase me after that 9 months wait -- well, that would be very unkind..!
It's extremely unlikely they will cancel reservation/penalise for going >28 days, I think. Just keeping them informed and making progress should be enough; after all, you're closer to completion than anyone else on the planet so why take the gamble.
Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

The issue is <290 of fire safety engineers qualified to sign off EWS1 vs 100,000s buildings requiring it if you include those <18m like mine, since lenders are still asking on those as nobody trusts modern safety certs; some people have been told 10 years, count ourselves lucky... It's a scandal.Speaking of EWS1, KR valuer did request it and broker admin has sent to them today: "this has to be sent over to the valuer to review and then amend there report so may be a couple days before I hear anything".
And only 1 underwriter query so far which I was prepared for from previous app with Leeds: "They where also querying why your payslips are in the name of [my middle name] rather than your legal name of [my first name] so I have sent an explanation over on this [signed form from my employer on headed paper stating my legal name is X and I am known in the company as Y, plus info on my bonus and salary]"
So... with current wait times, looks like I'm waiting for news by the 18 Jan?
Good luck everyone, I feel positive for a lot of you for next week!!Current debt-free wannabe stats:Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

I reckon they do this because we all pay for it with the admin fee, so even if declined, they won't lose anything...?!
Broker should've at least informed you of the valuation date though. They will be doing underwriting alongside waiting for the date and continue once valuation report has been received.
When did you submit your application? Can you see a hard search in your credit file, and what was the date?Current debt-free wannabe stats:Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027
