Kent reliance

as if by magic - phone call from the MB today. I swear my heart stops every time he calls me. Anyway KR asking for copy of husband's bank statement (even though he's not funding it). And they also need the EWS1 certificate from the housing association. Someone said earlier they ask for a million bits of paper - you're not wrong! Hopefully the EWS won't take long to come through. Want to get this sorted before we breakup for Christmas. Although MB has been really good as he's officially stopped for Christmas already :-)0

Searches are averaging 8 weeks at the moment (though faster in some areas, slower in others!) That seems to be the main hold up for most people, aside from getting the mortgage offer.Sotts said:
Searches were ordered a couple of weeks ago by the solicitor. I am telling myself the MB wouldn't have engaged the solicitor for me, the solicitor wouldn't have done land searches and KR wouldn't have done the valuation if there were any problems with my application. As it's SO they are looking for exchange by 29th Jan. We are on track with their timetable almost to the day. Just the lack of an official mortgage offer, although we have AIP, makes me nervous.rachlikeswinter said:
In a word, yes. You seem to be in a good position; a word of warning though, response times are very slow at KR and some people (myself included) have been waiting months for their offer. Patience is the key here! Welcome to the threadSotts said:Still waiting for formal mortgage offer though. Is this normal?
Have your searches been received yet or have they only just been ordered?
Don't worry, I missed the deadline to exchange about a month ago. They won't pull the sale if you miss it. As long as you keep the HA updated with where your application is and you're showing that you're taking an active approach. Everyone is aware that the house buying industry is painfully slow across the board at the moment!1 -
@Maaxx they said to me initially they only speak to brokers but I insisted and said we were promised our offer last Friday and that my MB is now on holiday until 11th Jan, they asked for some details and looked at the application and said they were happy to speak to me direct. Give it another go0

Hi
just wondering if anyone could provide any advice
partner is currently applying for a mortgage through kent reliance he has a mortgage in principle and submitted a full mortgage application however when they have ran the credit checks they have also ran mine I did not go on the application due to bad credit does anyone have experience with this or know if it can have a negative impact on my partners mortgage application0 -
Are you married? If so, they don’t accept single applicants you would have to be both apply.Amycork90 said:Hi

What kind of search have they done on you. Hard or soft? They shouldn't be doing this without your permission.Amycork90 said:Nadzharr91 said:

@Sotts @adzharr91
it’s abit naughty of them really when we are not married the exact reason I didn’t go on the application is due to my credit but they have checked it anyway
they have ran a hard search it’s appeared on my credit file0 -
Woah this is alarming - can you check with your broker to make sure they didn't put you on the application, because as Sott said they would've needed your permission to do a hard search.Amycork90 said:@Sotts @adzharr91

Just double check there haven't been any wires crossed here! It's okay to amend an application especially with a manually underwriting lender like Kent Reliance, but it's not okay for a hard search (or any actually) to be performed without you agreeing to it!
Even if they are searching you because e.g. you are a "linked" person, i.e. if you ever took credit out together in the past, they would still need your permission to search you.
The best outcome would be the broker confirms you were not inadvertently put on the application, it proceeds with just your partner and you can appeal to KR to have the search removed (this is possible but a bit cumbersome and takes time)!Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027
