Little update.. I was so deflated yesterday after again receiving no offer so I decided to try giving KR a call myself even though I know they only deal with brokers. I rang the intermediaries number 01276 601 041 and they were great, they said because of the brokerage I am with they are happy to speak to me and took all my details which I am so happy about as my MA is on holiday now till 11th Jan. Also, turns out alot of what my MA said isn't true. They went through all the activity on the portal with me, our last piece of the puzzle pur update MOS was uploaded on 11th December and all new documents are now reviewed in 7 ro 10 working days. Once it is reviewed it is that point we will go on the offer queue which is 5 working days currently. The person who has been dealing with my case from the start is calling me on Monday. So nothing will be changing now till after Xmas but at least I feel a little more in control now 😁
I'm tempted to give them a call as no update from our MB recently. Did they ask you for any reference to your case or anything?
  • Just for info, my broker has let me know KR's festive opening hours:
    Thursday 24 December – Closing at 12.30pm
    Friday 25 December – Closed
    Monday 28 December – Closed
    Thursday 31 December – Closing at 4pm
    Friday 1 January – Closed

My EWS1 form has STILL not been reviewed (it was uploaded on 9th Dec). My broker has told me that the BDM has escalated it to the real estate dept for urgent action, but that's all I know atm. I imagine I won't hear much until the new year. The developer is now chasing me for updates!

This seems incredibly unfair. Most solicitors and lenders will be closing extensively over the next 2 weeks so them chasing you is irritating and will achieve nothing!

It is likely they are trying to claw back a few %age sales near to completion for their EOY stats, without thinking about the effect it has on those in limbo!

Thank you for these hours, really useful to know. I've considered my application closed for 2 weeks and will resume caring about it on the 4th of January - if my selling agent dares try to hurry me up in the meantime now that they got EWS1 to me after a 7 month wait, I will probably just laugh...!
    Current debt-free wannabe stats:

    Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

It's been really useful following this thread as I am also at the "butterflies" stage.
1/12/20 viewed a SO property.   All the checks etc fine through them but they couldn't find me a mortgage (poor credit in the past)
3/12/20 went to a broker who got me AIP same day with KR
4/12/20 MB gave me solicitor details and Mortgage Illustration.   Lots of paperwork etc   Solicitor already arranged land searches
    7/12/20 MOS sent to MB
    15/12/20 Valuation carried out
Still waiting for formal mortgage offer though.  Is this normal?   MB says nothing to worry about as any problems would have been picked up before now.   And before I paid for valuation and some of the solicitor fees.
    Someone calm me down :-)

In a word, yes. You seem to be in a good position; a word of warning though, response times are very slow at KR and some people (myself included) have been waiting months for their offer. Patience is the key here! Welcome to the thread :) Have your searches been received yet or have they only just been ordered?

Yeah. It's fine; at least I know (/hope) they'll approve the mortgage offer as soon as I get it through, if they're this keen!

@Maaxx yes give them a call..  I didn't have a reference number or anything they just asked for my name and new house address so its worth giving it a try. They promised me a call back today and I am yet to hear from anyone so will see.

Searches were ordered a couple of weeks ago by the solicitor.  I am telling myself the MB wouldn't have engaged the solicitor for me, the solicitor wouldn't have done land searches and KR wouldn't have done the valuation if there were any problems with my application.  As it's SO they are looking for exchange by 29th Jan.  We are on track with their timetable almost to the day.  Just the lack of an official mortgage offer, although we have AIP, makes me nervous.

I tried calling the number but i think it was for your mortgage broker that you provided! :) I also researched KR's website and found another number and they said they only speak to the MB for case updates. Guess no luck for me lol.
