I must check online portal with MB million times every day for updates!! 🤣🤣🤣...... Does seem to take forever....it is reassuring that people are getting offers through though!
  • No major update for us today haha. But our MB said we will have another update on Friday. Our valuation is next week so fingers and toes crossed we will have our offer soon 🥳 It is reassuring to hear people are still getting offers 🥳

Just by you saying you’ve checked the portal 😂 they were great at the start, but they’ve been a nightmare for us the past 6 or so weeks, can never get through to anyone and they don’t update the platform and every time we ring the person we need isn’t available and never ever rings back 😤
  • Just a quick question. For those that have already instructed solicitors, have the searches been done yet? If so, how long have they taken? Or how long are they taking if not yet done?

    Hi guys,

I've been following this thread as we're in the same boat as most of you. We're buying a new build shared ownership property. We submitted our full application on 9th October, our valuation was done last week and so far they only asked for bank statements and queried some transactions. Hopefully we're near the end. As to instructing solicitors, we instructed ours straight away and got a no move no fee deal. The searches are about £150 so it's a risk worth taking, especially as we instructed our solicitors on 2nd October and we got an update recently to say that there's a time lag with local searches due to covid and our searches are due back on 18th December, so that's a good 10 weeks...

I instructed on 8th Oct (same day as mortgage application) and searches commenced on the 16th Oct. No word yet - I imagine they will take a while!

It’s a slow process I’m a couple of months in now but you’ll get there in the end as frustrating as it is iv realised it can’t be something that’s rushed. Instructing solicitors is a great move to save you some time. Good luck
