It has been very stressful . To be fair I think what iv learnt off this forum is literally every case is different, some people get sorted very quickly, and some people just have bad luck and it takes longer, It doesn’t mean that there’s a right and a wrong way, just how it is I think. We were lucky we submitted early when Kent’s waiting times were 2 days, now they’re at 6+ .dannik said:
Oh geez, you really sound like you’ve earned that celebration!! Crack open a bottle of champers and toast to your new home, it’s very exciting for you now!! I was just thinking oh gosh we’re a month behind you in terms of application don’t think my nerves can take another month of waiting!! This time they asked us questions and the broker already had the answers!! It’s a pain wish I could do the job lol!!samw2311 said:
Over the moon is an understatement. Celebrating Infront of the TV locked down lol! I’m sure we’ve had the most back and forth that Kent have ever had , literally. Partly because of our broker and the seller making silly mistakes on documents, Kent also asking very irrelevant questions about some things what they have already had the answer to. It’s been a nightmare but don’t be put off, it’s not down to Kent themselves, it’s down to people we’ve hired... aka the broker !dannik said:

Hey i wouldn't worry as we sent additional docs on 15th October, bank statements, and only had a response from the lender yesterday querying some transactions. We did have a valuation done in between though so I don't know if that's what took so long but it seems like reviewing additional documents does take a little longer than the 6 working days they have on their website. I called MB Friday she was out the office. Spoke to colleague who said she would chase this week and let me know so I emailed MB yesterday so just said no news I’ll let you know when I do, so I asked when she would be chasing as it was two weeks ago we sent docs she then came back saying she’d spoke to lender and our case would be reviewed by end of play on Monday 9th it’s been such a long wait! Seems a lot are waiting for update on Monday? Xxxruby16 said:
Seems a very long time surely they can update you?dannik said:Hey guys and girls, our valuation was done 16th October, we submitted application on 6th October, they asked for a couple more docs off us on the 21st and not heard anything since.MB said we should have case reviewed and update by close of play on Monday 9th. Really hope we do as this is really stressing me out just want to know everything is ok with our application. Don’t get any reassurance from MB whatsoever xx
Has anyone had any news today? X
FINALLY got our offer Today after a long wait. We submitted our app on the 2nd sept.
have you had a lot of going back and fourth? XAnyway, I’m so happy for you!! Have you got a move in date planned? 😆😆What stage are you up to?We are pushing the solicitor for a date now, we were told the process approx takes 4 weeks from solicitors receiving contracts (which was last week) so theoretically we’re 1.5 weeks in, the sooner the better, would like to just be in for Christmas, anything sooner is a bonus! We’ve just had a quote for carpets , these are the things you don’t think about when looking at new builds lol!
we have had to put 1/2 down (£1k) towards the tiling so I’m really hoping we get accepted for this mortgage!! Oh my gosh it won’t be long before you’re in!! I bet you feel like a weights been lifted??
did you ever feel like you might get declined? I really hope we don’t.
so we submitted 6th October, valuation completed 16th October, asked for and submitted additional documents and answered some queries on bank statements 21st October, not heard any more other than we should have update by end of play Monday.Did you go and see your house when you found out today? I think that’s the first thing I’ll do if we get accepted 🤩1 -
It sure does lol. We just want to be in now . We really thought it was impossible and we’d never get a mortgage, no defaults or anything just my low income average being self employed you can have a good year and a bad year and they average it out. So it didn’t really go for me, plus they (Kent) automatically only took 60% of my yearly income due to corona virus which I think is very unfair as if you looked at my bank statements you’d see iv been doing better business wise due to Covid. But Kent weren’t having any of it, so when I found this out I thought that’s it. They said we fitted the 3.99% rate but when underwriters looked they said they couldn’t lend enough but they could On a 5yr fixed as they lend 25k more on a 5 year. Not ideal but it’s our dream home, in 5 years we’ll be WAY better off financially to re mortgage the full amount.dannik said:
