There's a nature reserve about 10 mins drive away that's tucked off a random road- it's lovely! We've been going for walks there and my daughter has started a pine cone collection3

Wearing a mask to the shop has definitely cut down on what I buy - wish it had come in sooner. No holiday in well over 6 months (never gone past 6 months without a day's holiday) oh dear it meant the boss couldn't prove I had been to a job interview. Would love to find out which indeed employer thought they might like to grass on someone who's CV only they received. Whilst others probably claim sickness to go to an interview on someone else's time and probably get away with it. Yep learnt the fairness of this world and want to have turned bitter a long time ago.0

Going through my great-grandpa's old stuff, we knew he was a war hero but he spoke very little about it, and we found loads of old newspaper cuttings in his 'bridge club diaries' about secret missions, defying the gestapo and rescuing resistance leaders.4

I have my own direct and other ancestor's WWI medals, although they do not have anything to do with such daring and bravery as yours. Did your great grandpa get medals or was it the sort of work that was so hush hush that no medals were publicly awarded ? The French were very keen , and still are, to award the legion d'honneur to WWII heroes such as your great grandpa---it might be worth checking with the National Archives online which keep such records ( and indeed the French Embassy) ; and if he was an enlisted soldier as well as a secret intelligence operative you may wish to look at his War records at

Am I the only one who hasn’t saved any money? In fact spent considerably more, realised how much I needed to spend on the house and having time to actually see to various projects has cost me.. dearly!1

There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"1

Screwfix and Toolstation have gone online click and collect only at their branches.
so you order online and then wait for the text to say it's ready and then go and collect it.
This means there is no queue of half wits, loony tunes, !!!!!! and time wasters at the counter as there usually is during daylight hours.
Straight in my order number is, my surname is, 30 seconds later you are out with your order
Long may it last!
The other best thing that with the advent of near 100% card/contactless payment from retailers my local newspaper has ceased running the near monthly moan article about how local cash machines are closing down and how on earth will we manage without the ability to get out our cash.

Local companies, not just big brands. EG local wholesaler who is delivering to domestic customers not just businesses now, all the local cake and coffee/bakery deliveries. Great to support the independents and have great quality food too.
Using Milk & More - so flexible to select items for delivery, easier than the supermarket.
(I'm also with the poster about doing up the house a bit. I'm happy that spending more time here has changed our thoughts about how we use some rooms and what we want in them. It is nice to have these thoughts about our home).Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
