Boffinman said:£7 sandwich!!! Wow, I felt extravagant spending £2.50 on a Tesco sandwich yesterday...lol . For £7 I'd expect to be fed grapes whilst reclining on a chaise longue
supermarket sandwiches Or meal deals never fill me up so I always end up going out to buy more food afterworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?2 -
At least having to wear a mask, the mumblings that I make as I go about my business are less noticeable .....10

I've yet in my almost 50 years on this planet to meet someone who actually likes let alone loves what they do for work. Like I said, I hope and pray I never have to go back to the office and feel about ten thousand times better all in all, mentally and physically, working from home..
im a DBA - database administrator and it plays to my strengths. So there you go now you have across someone.
for me it would be wildlife reserves that I’ve never fitted into my life before.
back on topic:
I’ve discovered my ‘kids’ (early 20s) are both great cooks, & turning out to be decent, pleasant, knowledgable humans (I always suspected that, but nice to spend months with them to confirm it!)
....that a nice weekly veggie box makes you plan good meals to suit
....that SWMBO did an amazing job shielding her frail old mum, who is now a stone heavier and able to manage far better than back in February
....that we are lucky to have plenty of local walks around a disused-but-not-yet-repurposed golf course (maybe they will rethink all the industrial and housing plans)....that despite technically working from home for over 20 years, I do miss the interaction with others at various meetings or events
....& that despite not actively *hating* my job, I now have a countdown ticking to the day when I will say “so long, & thanks for all the fish”
....that I really don’t miss shops & shopping., & having never used food delivery services, they will form part of life moving ahead
....& enjoying more cycling than I have in ages: not a super fast pedaller, but enjoy a nice ride (might do 35 miles today, weather looks nice!)
Life is short, and whilst I know there are indeed many who love their jobs, there is plenty more I would like to do before shuffling off this mortal coil!Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!5 -
I haven't been furloughed and have worked from my office 2 days a week but think with so much being closed its made me realise how simple things can be. No coffees when out and about and rushing from one place to another so a quick mc ds with the kids, instead I've saved loads meal planning as I'm only doing one shop a week and we have had so many picnics I've lost count. So many reservoir walks nearby we have never bothered with as time was spent at trampolining/swimming etc. Not something I plan to go back to and I've saved some money too which has gone towards cc etcPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.222

Thanks Rishi - Not going to help my waistline though!3 -
John and Charles Wesley’s New Room.
If you happen to find yourselves in the middle of Bristol, gift yourselves a little time (before 3pm) to wander in and share the light and peace.
The coffee is good and the museum re-opens next Tuesday.3 -
It has to be the free online drawing lessons from children's illustrator and author Rob Biddulph every Tuesday and Thursday https://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob . Even though I'm a grown-up, I love his characters and his cheery style of instruction. Each video is of a different one of his characters and takes about 20 mins (longer if you spend more time colouring). He's really boosted my confidence in drawing and has helped keep me sane. Start with Gregosaurus and work your way down.

Great for all ages.1 -
I unfortunately discovered what a toxic and vile company I worked for, they put me on Furlough and then made me redundant after the minimum 3 weeks. Better off out of the place! I have recently discovered working from home (through an agency), sitting in the garden a lot more. Discovered only going to Supermarket when I really need to!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.673

I have joined a 500Friends scheme where we each pay £1 a week and the money is nominated by the members for a worthy cause. It's great! (better than the lottery)
