Iamdebtfree said:Off topic, sorry everyone- for most people work is just something we do to keep ourselves housed, fed and entertained. I've yet in my almost 50 years on this planet to meet someone who actually likes let alone loves what they do for work. Like I said, I hope and pray I never have to go back to the office and feel about ten thousand times better all in all, mentally and physically, working from home..
im a DBA - database administrator and it plays to my strengths. So there you go now you have across someone.
for me it would be wildlife reserves that I’ve never fitted into my life before.4 -

I use a website footpath maps and have found loads of paths to walk. Still discovering the ones that are a short drive away.
Not feeling tired all the time because l don't have to rush around. More time for meal planning and exercise. And diy. Also saved money. I don't miss the expense of modern life at all. I don't miss people either but l'm an introvert 😉
I will definitely be asking to work from home one day a week and prioritising my health more when the new normal world is fully open.

depends on the role but there are downsides. Personally I prefer to be in the office, I like the company the collaboration, the routine and the separation of work and home life,
also it can be easy to be distracted at home.
pros and cons but needs to be negotiated so a balance can be struck.
from a congestion/pollution POV it’s much better if people work from home so swings and roundabouts but definitely not a no brainier in all roles.4 -
Having time to get familiar with the functions of the sewing machine I had for Christmas 2019, then sewing items needed for use by nhs and carers. And being able to donate To various charities and good causes, the £50 a week I normally spend on socialising!!:A Goddess :A5

I do need to be onsite some of the time. It's not always a sit at your desk job. I can do my job effectively now because some of the reasons l need to be onsite have stopped temporarily. But l hear you.2
