Off topic, sorry everyone- for most people work is just something we do to keep ourselves housed, fed and entertained. I've yet in my almost 50 years on this planet to meet someone who actually likes let alone loves what they do for work.
Meet one now - I do!

Being completely fluent in French and passable in a few other European languages-------I have always loved learning and speaking foreign languages--------I have actually spent money during lockdown in trying to master Portuguese online------ a difficult language which has always eluded me. Blimey, it's still hard-going-------but we all have different meanings of "fun". :)

I have discovered lots of nice walks in my area, local history, several nature reserves I did not know existed and having redeployed as a covid 19 tester (though my employer) I have skills I would never had discovered if it was not for the pandemic!!

I discovered that I was wrong: I do have the self discipline to work from home, and I get much more done with less interruptions.

Like others, I also discovered how much money I waste on spontaneous spending. No more £7 sandwiches from the posh bakery near work.

I have also discovered how much time I waste.... nearly 2 hours a day travelling to the office, and a few hours a week visiting supermarkets and food shops.

Not anymore. I would like to visit the odd food shop but much rather sit on my sofa and order and have it brought to my door! Not just because I’m lazy, but because I’m now less stressed from an increase in time.

Time that allows me to bake Chelsea buns, teacakes and focaccia, and energy to do more cleaning and washing after work too.
