All this crap is why The Arms should not be re-opened.

Oh wait that is on topic, quick someone had better come along and delete it!
The Arms was fine, people saying Good Morning to each other is not a problem, the problem was it being lumped in with DT , it is all working fine on the other forum, World War 3 has not broken out yet
You know yourself colin, there was a lot of overspill from DT into the Arms, the troublesome were starting threads left and right, even the last one showing on the main index is a joke thread from an AE.
Q is right, they would all just migrate to the Arms if DT only was shut.
If you are all happy on the other place then fine, let that be home base and the Arms can stay shut for as long as.
I might have spoke too soon about it ticking along nicely, the idiots have arrived

I know it's irritating but Cornucopia is doing a great job and there is much more active moderation there

Plus people aren't rising to the bait. The idiots  will always try - it's how people react to them that is key.
Very true Neil, they are best ignored

All I can say is that I created a user over there today and apart from a couple of posters from here that I've known for a long time, there was no interaction whatsoever with me, although I tried.  There were a couple of sarcastic comments that may or may not have been intended to include me (my mind reading skills aren't up to much I'm afraid, so can't be sure ;))

Suddenly, and for no valid reason, getting ignored by several other posters on MSE who I thought I had at least a semi-reasonable rapport with was a major reason why after 10 years I asked for my old user to be deleted. I didn't join a forum to talk to myself - I can do that in the garden or the shed .... I sent the said users a PM to ask 'why' but this was also ignored ....

Unfortunately, my first impression is that maybe apart from less outright hostility in the discussions on the new forum, things haven't really changed that much.  I agree that it seems some ex MSE Armers have registered over there with the sole intention of causing trouble, but please for the sake of your shiny new forum that Cornucopia has done an excellent job in setting up, don't tar everybody that for whatever reason you've taken a dislike to with the same brush.

I therefore have to agree with Duncan on this - Let The MSE Arms stay shut for now at least.
May God help The McSkivers Arms and all those who decide to enter there.

I'm trying really hard to stay neutral but...what do you expect exactly? That people make a huge fuss and say welcome back Sleazy, we missed you? That everyone laughs at all your posts?

There isn't a huge amount of interaction on there. Posts don't get thanked/liked because we are all out of the habit of doing it since MSE removed our thanks in The Arms. Most posts are more or less ignored. That's the way it is. It's not just you.

I think the only poster on there that interacts with me is Pyxis, but I'm not bleating about it and I'm not taking it personally, it is what it is.

To be blunt, if you don't like it, don't look.

This thread has now run its course and is starting to derail into arguments not related to the topic.
For now the Arms and DT are closed. Please do not treat other sections of MSE as surrogates as this is simply creating work to the MSE Team.

    Thank you
