Not really. Joined yesterday when it was locked and didn't post in there, that's a fact.

Im not bothered if some are alienated, the racists on discussion, they're better off on an edl forum
You should be safe enough in the DS Politics area.
My experience is that if you're to the right of Karl Marx, expect to be banned for your "hate speech".

There is no practically nowhere online where people from either side of the political spectrum can debate on politics, current affairs or news. Of course there are small websites but they're limited in numbers and easily closed through a legal complaint whether to a web host or a copyright complaint and where you can discuss on large websites because they can afford good lawyers, they tend to be echo chambers and biased toward one side of the political spectrum so you only discuss with like minded individuals and there is no disagreement. Websites are terrified of getting a lawsuit in their inbox from anything that someone said. Google pulled ad revenue from two websites this week for what was said in their comments sections and one of them removed their comment sections to allow Google to deem the situation resolved. This threat puts the fear into websites. Web hosts, payment processors and crowdfunding websites live in fear of websites that allow open discourse because it will just take one user to bring it into disrepute and cause legal issues. Either you're judged high risk and charged accordingly (I know of one free speech website that asks for subscriptions from its users, even then, it only attracts users from one side of the political spectrum) or simply refused hosting or funding.

I'm not convinced that the situation is as bad as you suggest.

And to be honest, I absolutely refuse to give up on the principles of freedom of speech by assuming defeat.

If we were to hypothetically march upon the MSE HQ as a 5,000-strong group of people and rip down a nearby statue, would you reinstate The Arms?

I must say as a long time user of this forum since 2005 they certainly seem to be going out of their way to make people feel unwelcome at the moment

    I agree

Cornucopia  made a really good suggestion which would have helped both MSE and forum members and the thread that was in is now closed

Hopefully, Cornucopia will be able to push forward with this idea.
