... was originally made years ago on proboards (now on tapatalk) because of moderation issues here. So if you prefer free speech and being able to speak your mind without fear of banning you are welcome.

No requirement to use your mse id either.

Kindly stop sending groups of us unwanted PMs, especially not the argumentative ones just now.
You mean the ones you were rude in and told me to sod off? As well as making spurious accusations.

Funny how you have no problem when another member pms people links (they publicly admitted to doing this). Someone is playing favourites.

There are. It's why certain users have the ability to remove posts, ban etc. That is a moderator.
No, as @Misslayed has said, there are no moderators. There is s forum team that deals with reports and deletes post and bans users, and there are Board guides like me and misslayed who help the forum run smoothly by merging posts, helping new members etc
A rose by any other name is still a rose. If you moderate content on a forum and enforce rules (including non existing ones) you're a moderator. No need to twist facts.

You forget that there are over a dozen other witnesses (originally 17 participants, but some have found the leave mechanism kindly suggested above) to your paraphrased accusation being inaccurate, and mine fairly accurate

My accusation was "It is spam. You've sent some of us more than one message, and got very little if any result. Leave us alone." The other replies suggest similar opinions.

Perhaps you are the rude one, sending several unsolicited PMs even after a number of replies against doing so in this latest sequence, and criticising this forum and its moderation standards and its loyal members.

    I can testify to that.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Actually, no. Legally there is a big difference. A moderator is required to read threads and remove/modify items that go against forum rules and the non/mis-application of which can, and often does, result in lawsuits, If you do not have legally defined moderators but actively encourage people to report objectionable content, then the position is different,. At least, that is how I understand it, and with the kind of content on  this site, namely financial advice that may or may not be sound because you cannot monitor every user credentials, the potential for litigation would be high.

If I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be corrected if one of the board guides is kind enough to do so,.

    Yes - this is correct.

It also taps into the legal distinction between a publisher of information (which MSE would be if it actively moderated) and a platform for users to publish (which is what MSE actually is).

Naming something else that does the exact same job doesn't change what it is.

Furthemore, someone previously pointed out that there are "moderator" accounts used by forum staff.

Besides it sounds like you're insinuating the staff of this forum are using different names to get out of legal obligations. Which makes the whole thing even funnier.

Oh do me a favour! A board guide has confirmed what I said, in the post just after mine which no doubt you have read.

    No facts have been twisted,
If a rule is non existent then it cannot be enforced.
As stated before, this site does not have any moderators which is clearly stated in the forum rules which I will remind you of below:
    • There are thousands of posts made on the forum every day, it would be impossible for someone to read them all. Also, if we were to read and approve every post, we might become responsible for any unlawful information within those posts.

We want to protect our users as much as we can, so we have a 'report-a-post' system (see How do I report an inappropriate post?). Only after going through this process are posts legally deemed as being published by the site.

I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Please note that Ambassadors are not moderators. Any posts you spot in breach of the Forum Rules should be reported via the report button, or by emailing forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. All views are my own and not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

Hopefully the last post will clear things up once and for all!

If those are the rules we agreed to when we (voluntarily) joined, then why moan now?
It's not like a gulag! We also an option of (voluntarily) leaving if we want to, as some have.
