The Arms was fine, people saying Good Morning to each other is not a problem, the problem was it being lumped in with DT , it is all working fine on the other forum, World War 3 has not broken out yet

The problem was stupid and touchy users in DT reporting every little disagreeing post because they are offended by different opinions. If the reporting facility had been used only for the really out of order posts, mse admin would not have had to shunt inordinate levels of attention from the money boards onto DT.

Stupid and touchy users ran to teacher once too many and we all had to be treated like children, which is not surprising - even some established and usually sensible users just can't resist responding to trolls and WUMs again and again and again. 

I agree that the Arms was going well  but if only DT had been closed, the catty childishness would have spilled over, and pretty quickly too.

When DT is reopened, I'm sure many will return and new, reasonable users will come in, and hopefully a more adult behaviour will have been learnt. 

What is difficult for us to avoid  is the multiple log ins causing trouble. These need to be reported  but when there are many. It causes a lot of work for admin. Maybe board guides could be given powers to suspend posting facilities for troublemakers at least temporarily  instead of using up admin time?

You know yourself colin, there was a lot of overspill from DT into the Arms, the troublesome were starting threads left and right, even the last one showing on the main index is a joke thread from an AE.
Q is right, they would all just migrate to the Arms if DT only was shut.
If you are all happy on the other place then fine, let that be home base and the Arms can stay shut for as long as.

There were a lot of good posters on DT many with different views that discussed topics is a responsible way without resorting to insults, but unfortunately a small minority ruined board for everybody.

Funny how you have no problem when another member pms people links (they publicly admitted to doing this). Someone is playing favourites. 

You forget that there are over a dozen other witnesses (originally 17 participants, but some have found the leave mechanism kindly suggested above) to your paraphrased accusation being inaccurate, and mine fairly accurate

My accusation was "It is spam. You've sent some of us more than one message, and got very little if any result. Leave us alone." The other replies suggest similar opinions.

Perhaps you are the rude one, sending several unsolicited PMs even after a number of replies against doing so in this latest sequence, and criticising this forum and its moderation standards and its loyal members.

Why are you ok with others sending "unsolicited pms" but not other me? Playing favourites. 

I never sent anyone anything twice intentionally. And only replied to people who replied to me. Do you not know how a conversation works? Besides the ones claiming it was spam actually had accounts on it at some point (and some still do). 

The pm system on this forum is awful I'm afraid so I had no idea it was grouped.

The 11:48PM one says:  How can I send more than one message? I have no outbox messages to the same person twice.

This claim is dubious..

On the 30th you set up a group of originally 17 people (which has reduced to 12 as some have unsubscribed). Each of those people has received all of the messages in the group, including the 5 of yours I listed the times above, plus 2 from me, and 3 from 2 other people (who both also opined your messages were spam, one saying it twice). I've seen confirmation of this elsewhere, besides acknowledgements above

Thus your twice made claim (one private one public) to have never contacted the same person twice is untrue. Oh, being ultra pedantic, five or six times is not twice, but there was a certain stage at which the count was only two (n.b. I never replied to the first, on the 19th)

Your criticisms of this forum, its moderation, and the members you suggest are cowed by it are clear to see in public, plus in private, to your involuntary audience of over a dozen, you said But you'd prefer to walk on eggshells and risk have your posts removed/locked than be able to speak your mind? 

Just a friendly suggestion - this isn't clever marketing. Some of the recipients might reckon that such obvious propensity for argument isn't likely to draw them to the place, Some have said so. Or to be less friendly, the only thing wrong with suggesting you've worn out your welcome is your unwanted messages never had one in the first place.

I know it's irritating but Cornucopia is doing a great job and there is much more active moderation there

Plus people aren't rising to the bait. The idiots  will always try - it's how people react to them that is key.
