On the Corona help sub-board there is someone not happy about their thread being closed as well.
Reminds me of a decade ago of a forum where the tone or direction of the discussions did not suit the owners (and advertisers no doubt)
Threads were closed, then members were banned when they re-created them, so members invented new names and continued re-creating threads.
Next stage was to close the registration server, but that meant with just about everyone banned and no new threads as there were no new members there were no more click for ad revenue
So the whole forum collapsed in a spectacular own goal.

I don't want to join a new forum though. I want to post occasionally in the shopping Grabbits if I see a good deal, I want to ask questions and provide answers on moneysaving UK Holidays, I want to venture into OS occasionally, I want to offer advice (which is most likely not moneysaving) in the Families board - and in between those MSE acceptable activities, I want to check in with old friends via the Arms. All in one space. Otherwise I'd join HUKD, Tripadvisor, Mumsnet etc. Saving money brought me here, but other part of life kept me here.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remoteProud Parents to an Aut-some son

Of course there are small websites but they're limited in numbers and easily closed through a legal complaint whether to a web host or a copyright complaint and where you can discuss on large websites because they can afford good lawyers, they tend to be echo chambers and biased toward one side of the political spectrum so you only discuss with like minded individuals and there is no disagreement. Websites are terrified of getting a lawsuit in their inbox from anything that someone said.0

Crikes! The eye of Sauron will be upon thee!
I mean, it's bad enough when you type something quite innocent into your search engine and end up with a pageful of unexpected nasties! 😱😱😱
If you dip your toe into the dank mire, something will zoom up from the depths and bite it off!
I'd rather stick with fluffy kittens and barn owl chicks! 😁(I just lurve spiders!)

Let us all pray that the clowns have move on and let people here post questions without fear of being mocked, looked down at and attacked because of their circumstances. Good riddance is all I can say. MSE will be a better place for people to ask questions, raise concerns/alerts with less fear of being hijacked by the jokers that patrolled the forums 24/7 7x7 in order to make themselves feel batter.3

Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama6 -

The moderation here has been awful for years. And they then turn around and claim they don't have moderators which is hilariously ignorant of them to claim.0
