"It's a quality component, but if there is no space inside the case they may have to remove the old HDD.
M.2 2280 meant that they would not have to touch the old HDD and could experiment to see if it was still working to any extent.There are only two standard SATA 3.0 slots and one is taken up by the DVD drive."I missed that, been clearing the garage for two days and been knackered, however if you get the m2 ssd I found this , and he is right (again) you shouldn't need a stand

O.k, I’ve brought the m2, delivery for Tuesday.I’ve managed to borrow a laptop as my son desperately needed to keep up with his school work. So, in the meantime, I will be attempting to do the usb thing (wish me luck lol)

Apart from the installation media, take a look to see if you have any other spare USB Flash drives lying around. Small capacity is unimportant. Even 128 MB would be ok. This in case we need to update the BIOS, outside Windows or within.1

Delivery was sooner than expected and I now have the m2. I‘ve opened up the pc and think I’ve installed the thing in the right place but who knows?I also have the usb with the installation thing on it. What now?0 -
plug in the install usb, power up and press F12 as before. That should give you the windows 10 install screen.
