What about the initialise disk pop up?
    MRB or GPT?
Or no difference at this point?
No, as I said that disk should show as 3TB , and back on page 3ish we got an i/o error when we were trying to access it.. If you take the power lead and data lead from the back of the DVD drive and put them on the HDD  see if things change , it's worth a try but I would guess that the disk is gone. But we could then run sea-tools to it to see if that picks up anything.

There isn't an unformatted DVD-RW in the DVD drive, is there?
Or a USB pendrive plugged in?

Would either of these appear in disk management. (Just a bit of lateral thinking).

    Ok
Looks as if the disk is kaput.
That 3.86 GB Unallocated it actually your 3 TB HDD believe it or not.
I think we can scrap the HDD; https://www.data-medics.com/forum/seagate-st2000md001-2tb-hdd-shows-3-86gb-t1845.html

At least you still have the option to expand storage later, if needs be, by swapping that faulty HDD for a working model in the future. As you now know, easily within your capabilities.
You can disconnect the connecting cables for now if you wish.

That's a different screenshot to the one on the previous page ... if you're in any doubt, TRO has quoted it in a reply above. ;)
(My comment was based on the actual screenshot shown, not the spurious one that you've shown).

I also think it's a goosed 3TB HDD, but just wanted to rule out any outliers. :)

Yeah I know it's not the same but the one I posted shows a Removable and a CD clueless' clearly show 2 disks , was just pointing out to you that your lateral thinking means you were at least thinking B)
Edited and that post shows how USBs and DVD/CD appear in disk management
