Morning, so the 1st of June. A new month, a fresh start. It has been a strange year and who could have predicted how different life would become. I wonder what the new normal will look like another 6 months from now. So as I reflect, these are the three things I am grateful for:
my family and I are all in good health
I still have a job, which has not been affected by this crisis.
I have finally had my LBM
The budget has been set, payments have started going out and I have tracked each one on YNAB. The meals are planned for the week. Working from home has always been a blessing in many ways - I have done so for 10 years. I very rarely need to buy clothes although I do sport a good array of PJ’s which I consider to be my work attireA shower in the morning and fresh PJ’s - what could be better!
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning! Happy 01st June!
In anticipation of Mothernerd accepting meI thought I would post now as I'm up bright and early...
Apologies for end of last month vanishing act... lots of change in my life and I think I sunk under the waves for awhile... That's the great thing about the first of each month - a chance to look at things with a fresh eye.
Thank you for keeping this month simple again Mothernerd - for me it's just what I need again this month. Aside from a new job (going well) but a decrease in income of around £300 (expected)... I have my car to sort out (end of 3 year lease and not as straight forward as I'd hoped...). I've been fiddling with my meds as had felt good and rehashed my diet (trying keto!). In hindsight prob not best to change so many things at once - so I have re-instigated my old dose of meds as woke up feeling a bit low - and now not sure if it's meds dropping of effects from going keto (there can be a few changes as the body adapts to using fats instead of carbs...) If anyone has done it please pm me with any tips!!!
My weight had gone up and I was the heaviest I'd been in ages, and no motivation to self-exercise, so I decided I needed to take myself in hand. I'd already been intermittent fasting but would blow out on carbs (pizza, crisps etc). This way I can't do that. Day 4 today and already lost 2.2kg (some of which will be water weight)... and body fat gone from 27 to 26.3. Body fat % also dropped from 19.8 to 18.9 (if you believe those scales!)... and I am already burning fat as noticed a few marker signs!!!
Anyway - I'm waffling!!! Today I am going to re-boot my journaling, Found an AMAZING walk locally yesterday so am going to try and incorporate that into my day, at least a few times a week. If I can drop in some mindfulness again then I will be chuffed. Part of my wellness - is coming on here too as it is like a little check-in! I promise my other days won't be this long haha!
Today I am grateful for:
1) Discovering a beautiful walk on my doorstep
2) My little flat and the sanctuary it provides
3) My new job and the lovely people I am meeting
So wages in, budgets set, and today I will try and find a resolution to my car issue so it isn't looming over me... I am going to extend my PCP for 1 more year if I can as don't have enough for the balloon payment. I had planned to put on my credit card and move to 0% but I can't pay it off with a card apparently!!! It will be fine. Think positive Abundant!!!
That's me for now. I hope everyone is keeping well - let's hope June is a good month for us all.
Have a great day!!!⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Marvellous challenge, Mothernerd. Not just for June but for life in general.
Budgets are done. The aim this month is to spend money only on essentials. Food and one birthday present which will have to be delivered to the little boy from Amazon as there is zero chance of me being able to see him in the near future. I have to confess that we went a bit mad last month buying things for the house, treats for eating and drinking. It didn't break the bank but still better to nip it in the bud before it does.
I stopped making lists so I'm off now to start again and get myself organised and into a routine of sorts.
Beautiful sunshine here again. Have a good day Be back later to report on Day 1.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5
