Lots of tidying away done - stuff returned to the correct rooms or hidden in a corner (shed for the garden stuff) where it isn't in the way for now. Washing done, shower screen cleaned, some minor paperwork/ admin tasks sorted - my CPAP review will be by telephone/ questionnaire and I have now given them my temporary change of address details and new mobile phone number. Can put away the last 3 files and pack the file box away. Rounded the day off by trundling buckets of water on my trolley and watering as much as possible, buckets refilled, ready for the morning. Mum's cousin brought me two sacks of topsoil on Saturday and I've used them already. Given up hope on my original order (was a pig of a website, very slow to add things to the basket and when I deleted a wrong item it got rid of the whole basket - 6 times). I've found the place mum's cousin used and was doing well until the payment stage when it went back to saying they were closed (only reopened last week). Tried another local-ish garden centre, they've been bought out but there was a website for the new version - nearly all the composts/ soil out of stock. f0xh0les my early morning adventure is working out which parts of my body have decided to work today. Today I am grateful for staying inside for the hottest part of the day, for yummy leftovers and an easy tea, for 'The Crown' which I seem to have become slightly addicted to.

Morning, I feel very sluggish this morning. I woke up at 4am but managed to get back to sleep until 6am. But I feel very sleepy still. Physically at least, not mentally.
Pleased to report yesterday was a NSD, I almost stopped into Ald1 to get some of their 42p pop which I meant to get on Saturday, but the thought of having to declare a spend that wasn’t even desperately needed put me off.
Feeling a bit meh today so need to focus on the things I am grateful for:
Enough money to pay the bills
Enough food to fill our bellies
A roof over our head
Work today, which hopefully will be quiet. Making a seafood paella for supper tonight. If I have time I shall bake some biscuits. Have a good day all

Morning. A NSD for me yesterday. OH and I really went hard on the budget and I'm to fiddle the menu plan today to try to reduce the cost of meals.
I'm grateful for seeing a magnolia flower on my magnolia, while it's in full leaf. It's the first one on the plant and has got itself a little bit confused. Lovely to see though. I sowed veggie and salad seeds yesterday. I direct sowed so now it's a game against the slugs and snails. I'm grateful for stillness, quiet and all my loved ones are well.
June Challenge Day 2 Today is hug your cat day (or may be on the 4th - lists differ). It is also an International awareness day for Sex Workers (set up in France in 1975 to highlight atrocious working conditions) or if you prefer Telangana Formation Day (it's part of India). So hug your cat or your children or anyone you don't have to social distance from. Unless you have one of those cuddle sheets they showed on the internet (not very cuddly sheet of plastic pegged on a washing line with two sets of arms in so the hugger and huggee can put their arms around one another - a grown up version of those incubators for very vulnerable babies with glove shaped inserts so you can 'touch' the baby without any risk of infection). Just make a start. It sounds so simple yet is sometimes so difficult to do. As so many are struggling with life in lockdown and the 'sameness' of days I want to include as many hints, tips and tricks to motivate you and to 'make things fun' even when they aren't. It's easy to be overwhelmed by a lengthy to do list and just not know where to start. So shorten the list - put down no more than 3 things and make a start on one of them. If you are exhausted after that, take a break, if not do another. My counsellor suggested putting 5 'to do' things on a weekly list and add two 'just for you'. Anything not done during the week is transferred to the next week's list. It may not sound like much but when you are struggling to get going and do anything, it could be 5 things achieved that week. 'Just because you can't do all of something, doesn't mean you can't do any of it' I've found this very useful, especially as a woman of mature years who can no longer do things I used to take for granted and who often needs to think about how I can do a particular task (I think putting the polytunnel up was supposed to be a 'two man' job but I did it). It works well for 'big' tasks (elephants) or those requiring physical strength (just do 15 minutes then rest as long as needed). Even if you only manage 15 minutes a day, the task will be completed some time. It's also good for tedious mind numbing tasks like sorting the filing system (or someone else's). When my mother's partner's dementia meant his son had to take over, amongst the piles of paper in the attic, they found a holiday request slip so that he could attend his eldest son's wedding - the couple in question have recently celebrated their golden wedding. Another thing I do is 'just 3 things'. Before leaving a room, I do three things to make that room better so on leaving your bedroom in the morning you might put away a hairbrush in a drawer, pick up a plate or cup that needs to be washed up, make or 'straighten' the bed. If you are having problems with stairs (as I was before and during recovery after my hip replacement) it's a lot easier to carry things in a bag, small rucksack or a small wastepaper basket clutched to your chest leaving one hand free for the stair rail. Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can Arthur Ashe The beginning is always NOW

Morning all, could I join again for June? The weekend was good, I met up with my sis for a socially distanced walk, and LO saw geese and thought they were hilarious. Sis gave me some shoes my niece had outgrown and her old activity tracker watch, which I am now wearing in hopes of it helping me increase my exercise. Yesterday was a NSD, most of the bills paid, got meter readings sent in, closed a savings account as the interest rate has tanked, tried to call about my mortgage as want to remortgage and need to pay an early repayment fee, but the options for that just say we are closed so a bit stumped. Got 5 ebooks for 99p each using my credit. And managed to convince OH to change his mobile plan to one that is slightly cheaper Today I have attempted to get a small tax refund, see if it shows up in my account. Walked LO up to nursery in the carrier, apparently that made my heart rate high enough to count for fat burning, and I went up the equivalent of 12 flights of stairs (damn living in a valley) I am grateful for being able to drive and see sister, her giving me hand me downs, for the process of getting a tax refund being easier than it used to be, for OH finally agreeing to change his mobile plan and for slowly making my way through the Aeneid

I have just seen the weather forecast for the next few days, so I have made huge inroads into Mount Hotpoint, and am so far on the 4th load on the line, and number 5 is in the machine. So, I put away the scooters lying on the floor inside the back door, shunted a box of airbeds(??) into the shed, and put the mop away (3 things).
I have made a list, made a cup of tea, and am about to finish my book. I have spent the day keeping off tech as kids had z00m lessons, and dh had 2 meetings, so from 11am - 2.30 I have been keeping quiet and out of people's way while trying to feed people between their commitments and not being able to get into the kitchen/ not being able to get out of the kitchen.
So I turned my day upside down, and will be very busy after feeding everyone tonight.
- And what genius thinks 12.30 is the right time to start an hour long lesson anyway????

Up early again this morning and was powering through my list when the smoke alarm went off for no apparent reason. After 10 minutes managed to silence it only for it to go off again about twenty minutes later. After this had happened half a dozen times I decided I had better phone the council. They are only doing emergency repairs but said this was considered urgent and they would send someone out. It's been going off intermittently all day (and it's very loud). Lovely young man just been and replaced it for me. I'm sure the ringing in my ears will stop shortly. Anyway, that put paid to my walk today. Maybe tomorrow.
I've started the "put everything back when you've used it" and "don't put it off" approach and I've started making a list at night for the next day. Every tiny little thing like "take medication" and I'm hopeful that it means I won't forget things or let them slide. I like the "five things a week" as well so I'm going to add that to help me get into a routine and get things done. I find it keeps my motivation going when I see items being ticked off as "done".
I've started trying to grow things from the bits of vegetables that you chop off and don't use. I saw it on FBook and wondered if it actually worked. It does. I've got basil and parsley rooting in water on the kitchen windowsill from stalks, spring onion growing from the root bit at the bottom and celery from the bottom of the stalk (and it is really growing like wildfire). I'm absolutely hooked now. Even if they can't be used for cooking (but they might) it will make the porch look nice and green when I plant them up and apparently the kitchen smells lovely just now.
I love the Arthur Ashe quote, Mothernerd.
So, off to see what Himself would like for dinner if he's not feeling too hot to eat again.
