I have been splatting tadpoles all morning, it seems... A bit like whack-a-mole. And some are only half splattered, so keep squirming around and distracting me...(Yesterday's staff meeting brought up a long to-do list for me and it's had to take priority over my own list...)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Still compiling lists and trying to get into a routine. It's working out not too bad. Adding a couple of things a day and tidying things away as I go along. Himself thinks I've been cleaning so much there can't be anything left to clean. Little does he know.
Plants are coming along by leaps and bounds and I've started to notice all sorts of little beetles, spiders and moths about. Not just the normal ones but some that are quite unusual. Maybe they've always been there and it's just that I'm having the time to look now but some of them are really beautiful. There was a moth yesterday with wings that looked like grey lace. Lots of birdsong as well.
Definitely cooler today so having a proper dinner. Salmon, potatoes and green beans and I'm going to use some of my home grown dill to make a sauce. Simple things!
It rained here last night as well. Not heavy but it was lovely to listen to it in bed and everything was so much fresher this morning.
Off to email my brother in Canada. Have a lovely evening.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Whilst it has been mostly raining here since around 5am the ground has not got wet - brush aside the top 2mm of earth and underneath is still bone dry. The water butt filling from 2 roof areas (large area in total) is not even 1/4 full
Means I'll still need to water plants tonight..... sigh...
Thankful for people agreeing on dinner (burgers of some description -may be a burger, fish fillet or a chicken breast, depending upon individual's preferences, but still all easy enough), a flebay sale (money paid to mtge already), more things leaving the house (flebay/ recycling/ bin), DD & DS1 actually helping me with housework for once!

Evening everyone
Have had quite a productive day at work but my list of tasks is growing - serves me right for moaning about lack of stuff to do !
I'm glad it's a bit cooler today. I've been to the PO to post my Bay of E parcels & also returned some shoes that didn't fit. I bought 4 pairs for options and am keeping one pair. No refunds received yet but it will be nice when it arrives. I paid some of my self assessment (one third) that is due by end of July; i know we have till Jan 21 to pay it but i'll have another bill then and i'd rather pay it off by July if i can...
DD1 is making tea and i am grateful for that along with - friendly staff in the PO; a nice chat while queuing outside the PO; nice chat with DD2 (apart from the bit where she asked for money for yet another shopping trip to the Swedish Emporium for uni supplies - that was after telling me how much she has in her savings - ie far more than i have!!); and that i am aiming for an early night
Going to do exercise class tonight.
I like the description of breathing mothernerd

Today I am grateful for getting out for a little run, for a walk with dd, for discovering that the local plant place has a facebook page and you can order from them by phone and they'll deliver, for the wonderful smell when a little rain finally fell (not nearly as much as you, greent, more of a smidgen...), for a clear boiler-replacement-man visit with different options explained.

Today I am grateful for: facing my fears and going to a garden centre... still having a full time job and full time pay, the motivation to go walking in the rain with dd, and the temperature being a bit cooler so I should sleep more easily tonight than I have done in ages. Not giving up

Evening all!
Just sneaking in before midnight. A good day here and settling into my new job. I took the plunge and cleared off all of my credit card debt YIPPEE - now just have my car loan... so my figures are up again... but that just means another target to gun for! Let the frugal games begin!!!
Thank you Mothernerd for the reminder to BREATHE...so simple, and yet I always forget it as a tool for instant relaxation. Narola1976 - I agree... Keto is pretty expensive - and tricky as I don't eat any meat other than fish at the moment. Avocados are my best friend haha.
Today = NSD number 2
Today I am grateful for:
1) Fun and laughter at work again.
2) The extra steps and exercise into work
3) For YouTube inspirational videos and bloggers!
Car due for MOT and service tomorrow, so hopefully all will go well. I should hear about finance options tomorrow too.
Goodnight - catch you all tomorrow!

June Challenge Day 4
Use your time wisely.
This doesn't mean running around all the time being frantically busy. It means balancing the things you have to do with things that you enjoy doing, that make life brighter, that nurture your soul. Take time to savour the food you eat, paying attention to the different flavours, colours, textures. Notice the world around you, the colours of the leaves, the smell of lilac or earth warmed by the sun, listen to the birds or the children playing (in their own back yards), feel the softness of your cat or dog's fur, the coarse edge of a blade of grass, count the petals on a flower. Have a sloth day every now and then.
Listen to your body, discover what it needs. Know when you need to rest (for me, every morning starts with taking stock of my body - if my knees or ankles are 'creaky' an extra hour of sleep or just lying on the bed makes a huge difference and I can do more and use painkillers less for the rest of the day). On a really bad day the few steps between the bed and the bathroom are done to a sound track of winces, yelps and sharp intakes of breath.
Try not to waste time rehashing the past or worrying over the future.
Yesterday was World Bicycle Day. Today we are asked to be aware of innocent children who are victims of aggression.
Quotes
The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
It takes less time to do things right than to explain why you did them wrong
Einstein quotes
The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.
Time and space are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live

The elephant has landed. One bulk bag of topsoil (for beds, borders and veggies) currently on the gravel at the side of the front path - not blocking the path and I can move back if anyone comes near. Transporting it to the back using tubs, buckets, 'borrowed' shopping trolley and the walker (for biggest tubs) is today's task and may be my life for the next few days. Going to think about food first (got to get the priorities right). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7
